I'm going to have to go with;

Vincent, because he's my favourite character in any Final Fantasy and I used him all the time. (And I heart.gif guns)

Relm, because her magic pwns.

Eiko, because I always have to have a white mage and she's my favourite one.

I have two choices for the final spot. Either Sabin or Cecil, both for strength.

*snicker*

Just imagine Vincent running around with two hyperactive little girls. laugh.gif

Guess my dream team would be the same as my perfect team:

Edgar
Zidane
Kain
Cloud
Bartz

I wouldn't mind watching them in battle....

Any FF character with access to jobs and abilities can kick the most ass.

Though in terms of coolness, I'd have Galuf (FF5), Batz (FF5), DK Cecil (FF4), Kain (FF4), and Cid Highwind (FF7). NO GIRLS/EDWARDS ALLOWED!!!11

Lets see here...

Aeris-Totally my white mage since she has high magic.
Edward-Only with Appolo's harp would I allow him on my team, buh-bye undead.
Sephiroth-He's a good mix of Might and Magic. Screw his hair, hes a tough cookie.
Vincent-Anti-air is very important.
Vivi/Rydia-Black mages = my favorite class. Rydia well she can use black magic and summon, but Vivi even LOOKS like a true black mage, hes dressed "properly" for a black mage.

hmm, if villains are allowed:

Sephiroth - i don't think anyone can deny that he's just plain a bad-ass.

Delita - my favorite ff character, and very strong as well. With the right equipment, he could take Orlandu in a straight up fight.

Auron - are you kidding? Auron is awesome.

Yuna - i liked her a lot, by far my most powerful character in ffx. via the use of black magic spheres, she ends up far outshining lulu, due to a much higher magic stat.

Balthier - it was a toss up between him or basch, but baltheir is cooler, so he gets the go.

Hmm, FFVI-style, eh?

Lulu - A black mage, who by the sphere grid can be a Red Mage. Also, she is sorta Goth, IMO and I rather like that sort of thing.

Auron -
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Who wouldn't want a ghost on their team? A rather deadly ghost, for that matter.

Oh, and he kills things very quickly.

Edgar - Being able to use all those special weapons is neat, and he could be a good engineer in a desperate situation.

Kain - He can jump, he can poke things with his spear and he's a dragoon, my favourite FF class. Schmeh, he doesn't have much else to say for himself, but it was either him or the *overused* Cloud.

I would use:
Cloud (VII): His skills are solid, and very powerful all around.
Cid (VII): He too is very powerful and is like a second Cloud
Devout (III): He/She heals my team, and uses elemental staves when needed.
Guy (II): His strength and defense is pretty much unparalleled. I'll just give him two Poison Axes and watch him hack the enemy apart.

Since physical attacks are usually the attack of choice, I picked three characters who can hit for a lot of damage, and a dedicated healer who will keep the party alive. Of course, if I need magic, both Cloud and Cid are very powerful with attack magic, and even the devout has Aeroga. Guy won't be dealing much damage with attack spells, so I'd just leave him with support spells like Esuna or whatever.

--------------------
My 3 favorite words:
1. Climhazzard
2. Defenstrate: To throw something out of the window
3. Matrix

All time favorite party from all Final Fantasys. Oh man theres so many characters.

Party:
1. Vincent (FF7)
2. Orlandu the holy swordsman (tactics)
3. Setzer (FF6)
4. Auron (FF10)

Vincent: Need someone with a Gun.

Zidane: Always need a Thief too.

Garnet: White Magic and Eidolions

Vivi: Best Black Mage Ever.

Hmmm...assuming I can make a team of 5 like in IV...

Agrias- Tank, plus Holy Swordskill is just awesome. I would give her a spear (OK, she can't equip, but w/e), personally, just out of personal preference. Front row.

Yuna- White Mage, Black Mage, Summoner, great coverage, with a massive Magic stat to boot. Back row.

DK Cecil- For offensive purposes, and who doesn't love Dark Wave? Front row.

Wakka- He's just cool, plus Attack Reels was awesome. I need air coverage, too. Back row, assuming it doesn't affect his attack due to a ranged weapon.

Rikku- Yes, I'm sorry, but of all Thiefs Mix makes Rikku the best IMO. Front row.

--------------------
FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver.

Funny, that's just about the same team I would use, except instead of FuSoYa I'd use Eiko for White Magic/Summons and I'd swap Tidus for Barret so I can have a back row ranged fighter along with his Ungarmax Limit Break. So, final list :

Cloud --> Omnislash
Squall --> Lionheart
Wakka --> Attack Reels (I wonder if people realize this is the strongest attack in FF history to date?)
Barret --> Ranged fighting/Ungermax Limit Break
Eiko --> White Magic/Eidolons

okay, the ultimate (swordsman only, thats the way i work) 5-person party:

Auron (X)= He's the toughest, most intimidating, smartest, in control yet quiet guy ever. Hook him up with masamune, and he's invincible.

Vincent (VII)= He has the range going for him, and of course his shadowy past and intent for revenge. He'd be equiping my namesake, Death Penalty of course.

Cyan (VI)= Completely deserving of my respect, and another heavy hitter like auron. get him a genji glove and a ribon with high health and boom!

Cid (VII)= It was a close call between him or Kain, and since Cid has the badass attitude, he wins. Gotta have a lance in there for jump.

Shadow (VI)= Mysterious past, mysterious guy, but definately an amazing ninja. his throw attacks are some of the best in the series, provided he doesn't leave my all-star party.

PS: im excited to see these guys duke it out in FF Dissidia.

Quina: A blue mage is a must, and strength-wise, quina is my favourite. With both the ability to cast mighty guard and make straight nines, quina is a great asset!

Relm: 5x straight nines is not to be underestimated, gem box and quick wins!

Kain: Double jump is powerful, can use strong armor, and his best weapon has a chance to cast tornado, yay!

Yuna: The strongest summoner in any games, with various summons able to take heavy punishment while saving the party against the strongest of nukes, while also dealing heavy damage themselves... The ability to heal and nullify elemental damage is also a great +.

Locke: With Genji glove, offering and quick, the right weapons will make this guy deal 16 straight nines!, talk about being awesome.

I chose this party for battle power only.

5) Shadow

This is it...

Zidane - Come on, his attitude is badass. And he is fast, can steal, and does plenty of damage.

Red XIII - So flexible. I would make him into a superb mage, with white, blue and black magic. Hail materia!

Garnet - Equip her with the Boost ability, and she's ready to create pain. Will of course heal alot as well.

Steiner - A really late bloomer, Rusty becomes very handy when he learns the famous Sword Skills Shock, Stock Break and Climhazzard. His normal attack also grows sickly high

Amarant - Good offensive and defensive skills. Goes from Aura to No Mercy without blinking.

Im gonna change my team.

Zidane: My Favorite character and he can steal. His trances are good too.

Kimarhi: He has lances and spears, and hes strong. He can also use white magic and black magic.

Garnet: Eidlions and White Magic.

Ramza: Id make him a Squire with Ultima.

Rikku: Mix, and she can use Black and White Magic just like Kimarhi.

Favorite Team?

Sabin FFVI : Blitzes. And awesomeness.

Dark Knight Cecil FFIV: Because he looks so cool like that. I always hate turning into a paladin for that reason. sad.gif

Squall FFVIII: Despite the fact I hated the junction system like nobodies business, gunblades are pretty awesome.

Galuf FFV: Most awesome old guy ever. Not just old. REAL old. Like hundreds of years old.

Ramza FFT: He's just so... good. The definition of the good part of "Good Vs. Evil" has a picture of Ramza next to it.

Sexiest team?

Rosa FFIV: Your typical lovestruck heroine, who also looks very appealing in the ds previews.

Gogo FFV/VI: Well, Gogo is obviously a good looking machine.

Faris FFV:
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
After Bartz reaction to finding out that he's a she, in the ship graveyard? She had to have been a little hottie.

Celes FFVI: She was able to imitate a very popular, BEAUTIFUL opera singer after all..

Yuna FFX-2: She's a little more urban this time around, and a pop star. She's got a new found sleekness to her look that is just unbearable....

unbearably awesome that is.

Best Team (As in would make the system/computer your playing on blow up)

Orlandu (A.K.A. Thunder God Cid) FFT: He makes that game go from pretty difficult at the end to.... somewhat boring he's so strong. All Swordskill is like the final fantasy equivalent to steriods. It's almost like the programmers thought that they had created a game that was altogether too hard and wouldn't translate well to fans, and decided that to make the end easier they would add a previously NPC to the list of playable characters. I could rant about this for hours.

Terra FFVI: Combined with morph, esper bonuses, and the atma weapon, ragnarok/illumina, offering and genji glove? Oh my word.

Cloud FFVII: One word - Omnislash. Okay, so saying "one word - omnislash dur dur dur" is an extremely cheesy way of saying that omnislash is pretty cool.

Rydia FFIV: In my mind, the quintessential offensive magic user. Between summons and black magic, there's not much else you look for when trying to hurt someone with a spell.

Anyone from FFV: I say this because who you pick is really irrelevant, aside from a small differential in base stats. With all jobs mastered, this character really has the potential to be the most versatile party member on the face of the planet.

And that's that.

Cecil (FF4) - Paladin tank character, with physical offense, and light healing magic.

Cloud (FF7) - Excelled physical offense, a strong defense, with casting abilities.

Shadow (FF6) - Uber physical offense, natural evasion, the throw ability, and a freakin Rottweiler ftw.

Aeris (FF7) - Ultimate white magic caster.

Rydia (FF4) - Caller, with dominating black magic ability. How anyone would exclude her from an all-star FF party is beyond me.

not my type of party, but in terms of best party in FF...

I'd have to go with High DD party + healer without any defensive characters.
there're way too many characters so I'll fill in with classes instead xP
Vivi -blackmage
Cloud- omnislash? :0
Squall- 9999 damage per hit with limit break? :0
Aeris- heal and.... invincibility ? :0 and... refill limit gauge? :0 (and who said aeris can't nuke :>)
-another blackmage :S
conceptually, it's not very balanced party, but since it's a game, heh...
I mean BM might have 1/2 of HP a knight would have but does like 10times more damage using Ultima. I never found FF games to be balanced anyways.

Marach(with white magic)(can use free blackish magic and white magic)
Cecil(with Paladin and Dark Knight skills) (he kicks ass plus... he kicks ass o yah mage knights kick ass)
Young Rydia (she can use summoning, white magic and black magic)
FF11 readmage(with blue mage subjon)(has a long list of magic plus they are actually usable mages)

Perfect Party... Hmmm.... shifty.gif

Squall - GF Junctioned. Umm... Gunblade. As in Gun + Blade = Awesome!
That, and 9999 x a billion is always fun. And it's quicker to get than any other obscene boosts. thumbup.gif

Yuna - White + Summon

Rydia - Black + White + Summon

Faris (In Ninja job with Summon as secondary) - Pirate + Ninja > Gun + Blade!

Vivi - Black. Only on the team in the case that his imbue element on weapon were castable on any party member. Elemental Lionheart... I think yes. Very Yes. Faris would be dual-wielding, which would also be good for elemental imbue.

3 mages, 2 fighters, and 4/5 can summon. Front row Squall and Faris, and everyone else can take a backseat.

And I have to be able to buy ethers cheap. tongue.gif

Also this team would be able to rend a hole in timespace by simultaniously summoning 4 different Bahamuts from 4 different planes of existence...
There would be Reality Shards everywhere! But it would work, and it would be awesome!
