I think the last time I was in here, Nixon resigned. tongue.gif

Anyway, a looong time ago I got it in my head to do all the cast of FFVI in Vasquez style just cause I thought it'd be fun. ZIM was still on the air back then and I'd become a fan. In between then and now, the only thing that ever came of it was Relm looking like Gaz. Well, that was then, this now and I'm gonna have some fun again. pirate.gif

This is the first of what I can only hope will be many more fanarts I pull out mah butt in the following days.

Edit
YES IT'S LOCKE! Good god people. The Relm fanart I'm talking about is already up on the site. I made it years ago. I don't even think the forums go back as far as that submission. So that, right up there, that your seeing, in this thread, is Locke Cole from Final Fantasy 6...'kay?

Not bad of a first try. It sort of looks like a relative of Invader Zim, (seen and heard of it on the internet).

Overall, nice. To me it looks like you did it in chorcol, did you? I'm not very good with it, better for me to stick with a pencil and sharpener.

I like the artwork, but my only beef with it is the content itself: Relm is supposed to be a sweet little painter girl, not a knife-wielding maniac. I think it could have had a touch of that part of her if, perhaps, she was sweetly carrying a bloody paintbrush. Invader Zim has that edge to it of cute things being very, very evil.

Aside from that, bravo. The artwork itself is fantastic, especially the carefully controlled stray ink.

That is awesome. I really think equipping Relm with a Genji Glove is a waste of the Relic though.

I like it. Drawing th characters in a different style, especially one distant from your own. Shows skill. the only critique than I see is that Locke's eyes don't feel like "Locke"

Uhh, the artwork (very sweet, I'm fond of the style) is of Locke, right?

You're confusing the masses, NP. tongue.gif Is it Locke or Relm? I thought it was Locke, anyway, and I love the artwork.

It resembles 'Nny!

Personally, I love the way you can capture the Vasquez style and still give it your cartoony flair. I told you in chat, but you manage it really well.

Okay, I will quit my life as an artist if'n ya can't figure out who this is:

Danke DF. I've still yet to actually read JTHM, so I'm more influenced by ZIM. That's prolly where the 'cartoony' gets in.

Bwa ha! And here I am thinking that you meant "Velazquez style" Oh, me.
Yes, I like the Locke picture up there. I imagine him to be a friendly guy with a rotten temper once provoked. And he is clearly provoked here.
I especially like the leather pants you put on his thin little legs.

The Terra is cool, too. But you already knew that.

Nice Terra and Celes. smile.gif I prefer the Terra one, for some reason. Maybe black and white brings out the style better than coloured?

Well the holidays is over so it's back to work!

These were really tough to figure out. Gau was inspired by GIR and I think it's the first 'chibi' style piece of work I've ever done. Mog was even harder cause I didn't know any equivalent Vasquez character to base him off of, so I just tried for something that 'felt' Jhonen.

Pretty interesting take on all the characters thus far, although, I think I prefer the black and white ones. They've got that, uh, grittiness(?) that appeals to me more. Kudos all around!

I retract my previous negative comments - especially since they were all misplaced (whoops).

I really like the gau pic - especially since Im a big GIR fan.Its the perfect sort of art style for the wild boy - I can picture your wild little drawing hopping around crazy about his 'shiny'.

You're definitely sporting some skill there.
