I voted for Bahamut, because it does non-elemental damage. Odin's instant death attacks don't work on bosses, and the other Espers often do elemental attacks that may be blocked or absorbed by your enemies. (Pearl/Holy, used by Alexander, is a common strength in bosses, as seen when you attack with Graedus.)

I'm not a big fan of espers for attack damage. But i've always been an odin fan, and his one hit kill all enemies move is awsome and looks cool when the enemies are sliced. Him, Alexandr and Bahamut are the only espers i really use for damage. (well that and raiden)

I voted Odin/Raiden. Raiden was the coolest character of Mortal Kombat and Odin was the lead god of the Aesir in Norse Mythology. Besides, he just looks cool. The most useful is probably Ragnarok for ultima. If anyone likes to talk about mythology, pm me.

I know I'm probably preachin' to the choir, but Bahamut is the KING!!! Bahamut always has been and always will be my all-time favorite summon! It doesn't matter if you're talking his "Sun Flare" from FFVI, "MegaNuke" from FFIV, "Mega Flare" on several others, or one of his two alternate forms on VII, Bahamut's attacks are BADASS!!! I personally like Tritoch and Ragnarok because Tritoch teaches you the final bolt, fire and ice spell and Ragnarok teaches you the best spell which is Ultima!!

Phantom, who casts vanish on the entire party. I spammed that (well, more or less) when I first got to the floating continent. I'm pretty sure that's the only reason I didn't die.

Odin (NOT Raiden), for the +1 Speed (Agility) level bonus. In games with an active-battle timer speed kills, and that esper's the only way to get it. And since I never did manage to steal an Economizer, I never found Quick to be terribly useful.

Well...Talking about the esper's powers, I like Bahamut.
In the magic concept, I like Phoenix and Ragnarok (Life 3 and Ultima). |

Sraphim and Starlet therre very good espers because they heal and they have great spells that are pretty much nessary in the game
Though Phantom and Carbuckle were great support espers but the spells that they teach you arent that great And Pheniox had some great spells to learn This post has been edited by Cow_Of_The_Opera on 19th December 2006 02:20 -------------------- delete me |

I'm a huge Alexander fan. It sucks that they stopped using Alexander at Final Fantasy IX, but we got to see Alexander in a FMV. Of course, I like the other espers, but Alexander is my favorite summon in the ones he appears in.

Palidor....I just used him obsessively for a good part of World of Ruin. Then I mostly used him for the weaker party at Kefka's towe and he rsaved my life quite a few times!

Bahamut. That has always been the best (until became one of the best)summon in old FFs. Though I hardly use Espers because the difficulty of FF6 is really scrapped because of them.

I chose Bahamut. He and Tritoch always seemed to be the kings of the espers. Also, when me and my cousin would play the game, his character would have Bahamut and mine would have Palidor. Palidor is probably my second favorite because he looks cool and he has a cool attack.
