Hey whats your favourite party in ff7 and why?

Cloud-(Obviously)
Yuffie-cause shes cool and i like her ultimate
Cid-Because hes also cool has a spear and likes transport+he is hard

Cloud because i have no choice,Barret because i like the gun attacks and his ultimate limit,and vincent same reasons as barret except his ultimate limit.

Other than having just Cloud, I like having Cid, Tifa, Red XIII, Aeris, and Yuffie in my teams. Cid because he's my favorite chracter in FF7, Tifa because she gets to use all of her limit breaks at once, Aeris because of Healing Wind, and Yuffie because she uses nice Ninja techniques.

well there was the perfect party thread a while back, and possibly other threads of this sort, but even if my opinion has changed since then.


My favorite party would be

Cid-Too cool for school Cid Highwind, dragoon, awsome fighter, always have him when available.

Yuffie-This ninja with spunk is the best morpher in the game and she has some pretty good level 3 limits, also she uses throwing weapons which is a great advantage.

Barret-high HP, most weapons have innate long reach, Ungermax is a great limit, strangely it's only his level 3.

sadly FFVII limits to 3

Cloud- And no, not just because you have to have him with ya', but his limits are too cool to ignore and he provides a perfect balance of 'might and magic'.

Tifa- A powerful physical fighter (at least for me, I give her all of the strength items), her limits, and I usually give her Long Range materia to deal decent damage and receive less damage at the same time.

Red XIII- My favorite character and I think his Limits are the coolest. I give him mastered Enemy Skill materia, and recovery, support, and attack magics 'cuz I think he makes a pretty decent mage and combine those with his limits, and you get thee best all-around character in FFVII.

Everyones weapon has triple materia growth and their armor has double. For materia nothing is better. Set them up with something that needs leveling and a few necessaries (Double Cut, HP Plus, W-Item, etc.) and you'll be mastering quickly.

I normally keep everyone with that materia. Not because it is particularly strong (though most of it is) but because it goes well with what I believe they should do.
Cloud bashes things with his sword causing several status affects (sometimes I switch Hades+Added Affect with Alexander+Elemental just because) and can use KotR if things get tough. Then he has Ultima simply because of his sword's name.
Barret is extremely tough with this, starting out with Wall and absorbing almost 4000 HP every time he attacks, which is good as he covers for everyone. The counter and Mime Counter give him some variability. I normally use him in conjuction with Cait Sith becauuse of the low HP.
Tifa starts out in Haste and I normally only use Deathblow. It hits everyone, restoring HP, MP, and possibly causing a status affect, and she also counters with it, the few times she gets hit that is, thanks to the Mystile.
Red XIII is the Fire guy. He can use it twice in one turn with W-Magic, and it hits everyone absorbing HP and MP. Also he can use it singly on himself to heal if necessary (that is why I did not put Added Cut or Steal As Well). On top of that he can attack quite well with his high MP and his weapon, which does damage based on his MP. The Sense is because he started out with it and he is a Canine-Feline type thingy, so he must be able to smell. The Cat's Bell is again because of the animal thing.
I don't use Vincent a lot, so I don't really have a good combo for him. I just slap an Enemy Skill, always usefull, Destruct+Added affect to counter the Curse Ring (ups stats, but afflicts Doom at the begining of every battle), Slash All (with Flash learned) to get rid of most guys quick (like I said, I don't use him a lot, so his Death Penalty doesn't do much), and a bunch of counter stuff to make up for it.
Yuffie Morphs most things right away, absorbing HP, MP, and stealing from everyone, plus she counters with it. The W-Item is for emergencies or duplicating, and the Leviathan because she earned it. The Sneak Glove helps the stealing. As with Tifa she rarly gets hurt thanks to the Mystile.
Cid is another of my stronger damage characters. His Comet chain can be used twice per turn with the W-Magic, absorbing HP and MP. And because of the Quad Magic and Added Cut, he hits numerous times. Thats 8 HP and MP absorbing Comet2's plus 8 normal attacks. He also had Bahamut Zero because if VII had classes, he would be a Dragoon. The Tetra Elemental absorbs the more commonly used elements for extra protection.
Cait Sith is my main magic user. Almost every spell has all and all do absorb HP and MP. He starts of automatically with Shield to help with his low HP and when he dies he automatically comes back to life. If he gets hit and lives, he will counter with Ultima. The Manipulate is simply because he started with it and I think it suits. The Hypno Crown makes it quite usefull actually.

And there you have it, my unnecessairly long and revealing character combos.

Cloud (his attack and overall stats are awesome!)

Aeris (because she has healing wind and is very good with magic/curitive magic.)

Vincent (he looks aweosme, and is a decent attacker with no bad of magic stats.)

Others would be:

Tifa (becasue she reminds me of one of my friends you can beat up almost any boy or guy I know )

Barret (good attack and high HP)

Others are good, but I prefer these.

Well, if having Cloud in the party wouldn't be obligatory, I'd take the following:
Vincent (for the monster limits)
Red XIII (for being so goddamn tribal )
Cid (for being a Cid AND a Highwind in one)

Sounds like somebody can't get past the Materia Keeper.

I use Aeris for as long as possible to make use of her while I can. It's quite fun to make the original Avalanche team of Cloud, Barret and Tifa. Red XIII is good because of the dialog he gets throughout the game and likewise Yuffie's is quite quirky. Shame you can't make more use of the Young Cloud and Sephiroth team, they were easily my favourite.

Mine is the AVALANCHE team.

Cloud- He's my favourite character for FFVII, and I just couldn't live without him. I gave him recovery as a side.
Tifa- Her attack and limit breaks are awesome and she is a decent magic user.
Barret- His attack is also awesome as well as his limit breaks. I also used him as a summoner because he still had a lot of HP with tons of summons on him.

Apparently, I gravitate towards people with high attack power.

Well, assuming that I didn't have to use Cloud (though I still might have used him anyway, I dunno...), my party would be as follows;

Tifa - I like using fist fighters/monks in my parties. (Amarant and Sabin are regulars in their respective games.)

Vincent - He's the coolest character in FFVII and he basically became my Red Mage. Plus, guns rule.

Cid - He was my Summoner and he's got strong attack power to boot.

Cid - My favorite FFVII character.
Tifa - Good damage dealer, decent magic user. For me, the best compromise between the two.

Cloud, Tifa, Barret, i pretty much stuck to this party the 1st time i played the game, they're classic.

It's interesting to try out different combinations as well,

Agreed, the dialogue is one of the main reasons why i like to switch about characters often at different places.

Cloud gets Cover and Counter Attack, and protects the girls while retaliating. Aeris gets all the magic/summon materia and keeps the party on their feet as well. My party is not special, but it's my party

Cloud - He's always there, and he's strong because of it

Vincent - Only one of the coolest optional things put into a game

Tifa - Barret is always preoccupied, and aeris dies **spoiler alert** but Tifa is there from the beginning, so it's like Cloud in the naturally higher level department.


Least likely to be put in a party:

Cait Sith - ................... Just no. Thanks for allowing us to destroy the world with the Black Materia sacrifice tho.

Yuffie - B**ch stole my materia! Made me do an annoying side quest to get it back! ... she's so fired.

Aeris - cause she's DEAD! and what is the point of leveling if you're going to die anyway. Just cast your Holy and then let me use it like you never would in the first place, you greedy, selfish Cetra!

... sorry about that. I think there was a bit of pent up frustration there. Bad experience with the whole, "she dies" thing with my first game.

Most of the time I use Red XIII instead of Yuffie, but Yuffie is proving to be quite a usefull character.

Favorite party:

Cloud (cause you have to)

Cid (mother Fuc&*^% badass)

Tifa- for a girl she has mighty strength, and her limit break kills everything in sight.

If I could take Cloud out of my party I would replace him with:
Yuffie- long range attacker and has really good limits.

I like using Cloud, Red XII and Yuffie. When I played first time, my favorite party was Cloud, Tifa, Vincent. Btw, excuse me for my "low-level" english, but I am from Czech Rep. an we don´t have good teachers there :]

In a perfect world, I could use Yuffie, Cait Sith, and Vincent. But in the real world, I have to use Cloud, Cait Sith, and Yuffie.
