as far as monsters go - i would have to go with the Red Chocobo, lots of hp, and very damaging attacks. Annoying.
as far as bosses go - I'd have to go with Algus. That early in the game, unless you've played it previously, you have to fight a boss probably a couple levels higher than you, with strong knights and wizards protecting him. On top of all of that, he has auto potion, which, again at those levels is incredibly effective. -------------------- |

I hate a group of multiple Red Chocobos with Chocobos. Choco Meteor and Choco Cure drive me nuts. The Mindflayers are on top of that list as well 'cuz I hate confusion on my tanks.
As far as bosses go, there's not one I really hate other than the fact that I find Celia and Lede to be annoying, escpecially when I'm trying to steal Elmdor's equipment and when Orlandu falls for their ever-so-annoying statuses -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Wiegraf, basically.
For other specific battles I detest, see: Riovanes Castle, Bethla Garrison and the Floodgate of Frustration, and Golgorand Execution Site. This post has been edited by Zeromus_X on 11th November 2006 03:58 -------------------- |

One is in hell when he has a couple chemists and a bunch of powerful monsters at his side. The other, you start the battle out poisoned in the desert, and you have to fight him and his squad. EDIT: and the first time I played, i had a lot of trouble with the fight where you start out poisoned. Argh, that Rafa/Malak battle was extra annoying seeing as how only the enemy has Ninjas by that time. The Elmdor battle on the roof, as well as the Wiegraf battle at the windmill, are annoying.

Ogre-knight, I couldn't agree with you more, Wiegraf and Izlude are probably my third and fourth favorite characters in FFT (behind Delita and Ramza) and I didn't want to see either of them go. Especially because I was hoping to eventually have izlude on my side. (I didn't think that would ever happend with wiegraf).

Boss: Quaklain. I'll never forget my first time through FFT. I saved RIGHT BEFORE I went in to fight the Impure King, and I wasn't anywhere NEAR high enough of a level. I had to wipe the party and start all over again. To this day, I love overkilling this bastard.
Character: Delita. Sniveling, murderous, powerhungry. Monster: Red Chocobos and Mindflayers Item: The crap you get from Inn jobs that serves no real purpose. Equipment: Javelin II, because it's so frigging hard to obtain at Nelveska Temple. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

I hate Algus with a passion. Just thinking about his snobbish attitude toward the peasant-born and his outtake on life makes me want to punch his bulbous head off. Everyone gets so polarized over him that he's most certainly a great boss (and 'monster'), but I'd still love to kill him twice, just to make sure.

The last battle at the end of Chapter 1 was pretty annoying since they have more characters that you do. Any Chapter 1 battle with Wizards is pretty annoying and with two it's very tough. To top it off, Algus has a crossbow and there are many Knights.

Character: Rafa on the Roof of Doom Needs no explanation to anyone who's played that far and is a spoiler to anyone that hasn't.
Boss: Balk Insanely fast and sniping me with that blasted gun. Then there's his innate Defense Up and Magic Defend Up if I actually advance close enough to attack him, that coward. Monsters: A three way tie between Chocobo, Red Chocobo, and Mindflare. Chocobos constantly undo damage. Red Chocobos act like a monster version of Balk with their cowardly sniping. As for Mindflares, I learned something new when my berserked Archer at Zirekile aimed for the empty panel below the enemy on the bridge. (This probably applies to all line of sight weapons, as well as the longbow in the example presented) |

As a character? I hate Algus. His only saving grace? He was a satisfying kill.
A particular battle? The notorious Elmdor rooftop fight. Mainly because of Rafa. Obviously, charging at Elmdor and 2 trained assassins alone with a wooden rod was the best idea. Idiot. As for monsters, well. I absolutely despise chocobos. On more than one occasion they've forced me to awaken every household for miles around with profanities. Know what I really hate? Those annoying little yellow ones running away at critical hp into a group of other wounded enemies and healing everyone. |

Quote (Dark RAM @ 10th November 2006 02:13) "I was just wondering which Boss/character/monster/Item/equipment did you hate the most?" So, this is my first post on this board, let me just get one piece of business squared away. FFT = 3rd greatest game yet made. Now that that's been taken care of... Boss(fight) - 2 way tie between Elmdor fight in the castle (stealing the full set of Genji is a pain) and Elidibs in the DD (getting Serpentarius cast on who I wanted and not on everyone else while Innocent'd, blah!) Monster - Black Chocobo. I have seen a lot of Red posts, but for me the Choco Ball is much more damaging than the Choco Meteor. And I love the Yellows, they are the best mobs for xp'ing and jp'ing on. Item/Equipment - Mace style weapons. I know they are random, but I "randomly" seem to get crappy hits every time. Honourable mention Boss(fight) - Meliadoul. She sure hates her some MY equipment. Well it use to be the one on one Weigraf battle. However, now it is definitely made up in my mind that the battle with Elmdor and his 2 assassins is just ridiculous. If thats not tough enough, you have to save Rafa. Lemme go back to the first time I faced off against them. Actually this is how I first won that battle after 6 tries at least. Hmmm... ok I send Ramza in for diversion and boom stop bracelet hes dead. Next Agrias is shadow stiched by other assassin. My lancer uses his jump but they are so freakin fast that they move before he lands. Believe it or not I actually used a red chocobo. Choco meteor worked wonders. I had a chemist to revive Ramza I believe to put the finishing touches on the one assassin. But seriously, I was in shock when they tosses Barinten off the roof like some piece of trash haha.

I'm only in Chapter 2, when you're taking the princess to the Cardinal dude, so I haven't experienced everything yet, but here is what I've found so far:
Most hated character: Algus. At first I thought he was awesome because he could kill anything, but when he got started with the "commoner" thing, I couldn't wait to off him. Jerkwad. Most hated boss battle: The battle with Algus. I tried that one so many times and I just couldn't win! I was right around his level and everything. Those wizards are brutal. In the end, I took all my people behind the fort and left Delita out there as bait. A wizard killed herself trying to kill him. I killed the rest one at a time until I could finally get Algus by himself. Most hated enemy: Chocobos!1!! I try not to go over places where chocobos come a lot so I don't have to fight them. I literally scream whenever they start the Choco Cure thing. Most hated equipment: The axe. If it says it can do 54 damage, then I would like for it to do 54 damage, not 9. I still use it anyway, just not happily. -------------------- Why, hello guys! Haven't been around here in a loooong time! http://dragcave.net/user/LadyTwi http://www.backloggery.com/ladytwi |

I. Hate. Algus. Seriously.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view I guess I saw it coming, but I was pretty pissed when he killed Teta. I felt so sorry for Delita and then had my Thief use Steal Heart on almost every emeny unit, hoping they would make Algus blow up or something, and, well, he sorta did. As for bosses...man, I really hated that solo battle with Wiegraf. Atleast, until I abused Guts abilities. I kept boosting Ramza's speed, and eventually he was so fast he got almost every turn. At that point, I had no problem winning. -------------------- FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver. |

I really hate when you dismiss a character. I always like to make my own creation characters that stay with me throughout the entire game, but always near the end I swap them out for guys like Orlandu, and Beowulf. This past go around with the game it just so happened that I started out with two squires that happened to have the names of two of my best friends, both of them brother and sister. So naturally, they were part of my game the entire time, until the end, when I ran out of room. Then they would say something like,
Quote Do you really not need my help anymore? or Quote You sure about that? I thought we were friends. I'd feel SOOO guilty. They're just friggin guys in a game. But damn. those quotes made me feel like a heel. |

the character i hate the most in the game is definitely algus, that fool is a bastard. the way his character is developed and his personality make me angry inside, so much to the point that in every battle he is the first person i kill

For characters, I hate Algus! He such a racist towards the commoners! What he doesn't know is that if they die the nobles are next in line.
For Monsters, I agree with thoose who said Red Chocobos and Mindflayers. Those Red Chocobos gets me pissed with their Choco Meoters. The worst thing is that when I find one I want to poach it for a Barrette. As for the Mindflayers, Their Mind Blast always Berserk my units, its rare that they will get Confused first. As for Boss I again agree with the two fights against Elmdor. The one on the roof is hard for me only because I want the Cachusha and Barrette form Celia and Lede. but its hard when I have to defend Rafa from them at the same time while the Assassins will be hitting me with there skills. As for the second one, I can still recall when I took them on the first time. My theives were protected against Blood Suck and my attackers were protected against the Assassins. When the battle started though this is what happened. Elmdor went and Blood Suck Orlandu. Celia than went and used Allure on Orlandu who was now a vanpire. Than something funny happened! On Orlandu's next turn, he went and blood suck Celia and Celia turned to a vampire. She in turn sucked Lede's blood and she too turn to a vampire. Lede, now a vampire, then went and Blood Suck Elmdor! -------------------- In order to find your oppenent's weakness, you must first learn their pattern. Once you know their pattern, you can build a counter strategy. |

boss : the marquis....he is wearing all that genji stuff and i want it...but he keeps turning all my guys into zombies and what not. tough fight because you have to get creative. |
