No offense, but that is like commonly known as yes.
WAIT for shadow at the floating continent until the countdown timer says "3" Shadow will appear. All you have to do is choose "Wait" and stay. He is in the Cave of the Veldt in WoR then you have to bet "Striker" at colloseum to actually get him for good. -------------------- "FFII/FFIV is simply the best role playing game ever created." - 1994-2006 |

CoN FFVI walkthrough
This is one of those rare occasions that I condone walkthroughs. Since you've played through several times, you could have just checked the CoN walkthrough for anything you have missed out on. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Prolly kept doing what I did my first few playthroughs oh-so-many years ago: assumed he'd die if the timer hit zero. It wasn't until my third or fourth time through (IIRC) that I got sadistic and thought, "Hey, I wonder if there's any special death scene?" Needless to say, I was surprised... -------------------- Wasabi Viniagrette: Mix 1/3 C rice vinegar, 2 Tbsp sesame oil, and 2 tsp powdered wasabi. I watched my cousin do the game before i ever owned it, he never saved shadow because he was afraid of dieing on the content. I did it on my own my first play thru just to see what would happen. I have to say i honestly dont know what happens if you dont wait for him because i've never not waited for him. He's powerful for future bosses and a vital part of my overal team when i get to use him.

As a little kid who chickened out and didn't wait for shadow because he didn't want to fight Atma again: You basically jump off, land on the airship, it break apart. You find Relm where Shadow should be in WoR, and you see Relm's dream sequence. Then you get a couple of worthless weapons that Shadow could've used, oh, and skeans that at that point are only any good in Gogo's hands.
Just about nothing really changes. Shadow barely affects the plot if he lives. But, he's a very good character, and for that much I'd go out of my way to grab him. -------------------- "A little tight, but the price was right" - Locke "Oh, what a Fuddy Duddy" - Relm "..." - Shadow "I'm a General, not some love starved twit" - Celes "Although Edgar showers his attention on the ladies, most are smart enough to pay him no attention. Oh! King Edgar!" - Figaro Castle Inn Attendant |
