economizer or gem box

i know that if you wage the gem box in the colosseum you get an economizer, but i cant decide which one to keep, or is there another way to get an economizer or a gem box?

The Gem Box is an unique item you'll definately want to keep. All that Economizer really does is circumvent the need for Osmose once in a long while, which in this game is no big deal. Economizers can also be stolen from the rare Aquila (Phoenix Cave, Colloseum) and are randomly dropped by the equally rare and dangerous Brachosaur (Dinosaur Forest).

yaeah i had the fate of facing a brachosaur, but he didnt dropped it, its jsut that it would be really cool, to have a gem box and a economizer in the same guy
 , well, anyways, so then brachosaur is rare, and the aquila is just on phoenix cave? |

You can easily have both the gem box and the economizer. On my perfect game my Celes has Gem Box/Eco combo. Very useful, in my opinion, especially when you're fond of high-cost spells such as: Merton, Ultima, Quick, Cure 3, Life 2, etc. She makes for a superb healer.

In a normal gameplay setting, the Gem Box/Economizer come in very handy. But in the context that I am currently playing the game, having to choose 3 spells for one character to cast before the next character can be quite a nuisance, seeing as how basically all I've been doing in the game lately is fighting hacked monsters that are incredibly strong. A good spell caster with high MBlock % can be just as deadly, providing they take advantage of the Quick spell. The economizer just takes away the need to use Osmose. I don't mind using Osmose, really.

it would be ridiculously stupid to waste your gem box on getting an economizer, gem box is one of the strongest items there is, and since the economizer can be found as a drop, its really not worth sacrificing gem box for.

I agree with Ganolink
I believe you can only find one Gem Box (unless you can steal it unknownly from some dragon/boss). Economizers can be dropped from Brachosaurs and I guarentee you will find a lot of these once you choose to fight them for leveling up. But, really, play around in the colloseum and you will find some interesting things. fight brachosaurs they drop Economizers (also equip your best magic user with both at the same time) so that way u can cast ultima like 4 times for 4 mp

Definitely Gem Box. You can get an economizer everytime you defeat a Brachosaur. I always end up with more than 10 each game.
