If you have been in chat for any length of time over the last two years, you know that I've been working on this site for my friends back home. Tonight, finally, a year after their store opened and they got to stop doing business from their house, their new website is open for business.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out over that time, Del, Mimic, and Mal especially in the last six months. This may just be me, but if you take the effort and time to get a professionally made website look instead of doing your own bodge-job from a DIY-webpage kit, I'm more intrested in the products you have to offer.
So Coco-Bon chocolate has got their money's worth IMO, because it's a nice, functional site that doesn't clutter up the screen with information and lets you select what sweet treats you want qith a minimum of fuss. I think that you said you were aiming to have the website itself resemble a box of chocolates and it kind of does. Except this is a more predictable box of chocolates than Forrest Gump's box. -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

So, no more chocolate woes Josh? Cause for a while there, you were scaring me a little bit discussing amaretto's and such...
The site looks great, and Coco-Bon got a great facelift and yeah, Coco-Bon is like a box of chocolates...but you get to pick what you're gonna get. -------------------- This is a webcomic and gaming blog where I rant about nonsense. Enjoy. I was a soldier, now I just play one in video games. |

Assortments are a bit generic, but then again, what isn't these days?
VERY nice layout - kudos to you. Simplicity's beauty is often overlooked, and nothing irks me more than a cluttered up page with flashy but useless features. I do rather dislike the "store locator" feature, though, since there is only one store, so it's a bit misleading; might as well simply give a location and store hours page instead. Oh my god, I totally remember this site from when you linked it in chat once. You were angry about how IE kept highlighting everthing when you dragged the chocolates into the boxes. Haha, good to see you got that problem worked out. Very nice job indeed.

Don't understand what you mean about the assortments being generic, sorry. The page is generic? Which one? Or the products available, or the photography? Only one of those things is anywhere near my control. I suppose I could do that with the store locator. Clients have yet to complain, if they do then I'll bother changing it. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? No, just the assortment, and I figure that that's beyond your control. Besides, they look delicious, so it doesn't matter. I dunno, the store locator thing just threw me for a loop for a moment because I'd ended up thinking that it's a chain store... |
