I know i'm new here, but this excited me too much not to mention. This is the first 'official' info i've seen on the square-enix website regarding ff6a:

http://na.square-enix.com/e306/titles/ff5/
(i know it says 5 but it works)

and there are two buttons: playable demo and trailer. the demo is grayed out but the trailer is highlighted. but i can't seem to click it to do anything. I'm on a mac. Can anybody else get a video from it?

Doesn't look like it's a clickable link yet, I'm sure that will change in the near future.

I have the same problem, but upon further review it appears that this is merely for informational purposes. The page and highlighted trailer icon indicates that there will be a trailer for each repsective game at the E3 convention when it starts this week. It'll probably be available online after that. Cross your fingers!

WOW, this is so exciting!! i'll even buy a gameboy advance just to play this game.

I just hope the new dungeons will not just be random fighting grounds, but also additions to the plot. FFVI left us all with way to many unanswered questions about the characters, and i would like to get some closure on a few of them!

I'm still on the prowl for online versions of the E3 videos for V and VI Advance, but no luck so far. Hopefully in the next day or two...

A little closer, but not quite.

Here you can download the entire Square-Enix press conference at E3:
http://media.gameboy.ign.com/articles/705/705973/vids_1.html

they show you everything EXCEPT the trailers, one of which was for FFVIA. but you may find it interesting nonetheless.

No, all week long they gave most of thier time to promoting their 3D (not necessarily better) games.

I'm especially disappointed at sites like gamespot and ign. They had reporters, live blogs, picture from the floor, etc... and they didn't give anything.
I don't want to hear about Dead or Alive 23 or how the Wii felt in their hands.

I want to hear about FFVI!! mad.gif

Although the 'Trailer' buttons are shaded out on the link that he provided, I'm interested in those 'Playable Demo' buttons. I don't think I've ever heard of a company making a demo available on the 'net for a console game. I'm interested in trying them when (or if) they become available just to see how it's implemented. Will it be a flash demo? An .exe? Of course I'm buying them the second they come out, and after FFIVA, I can't wait to see what new additions are included.

Try the Japanese site instead:

http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ff5/

(This is for the FF5 site, I know, but it gives the link to the FFVI site, which is still listed as "coming soon," and the J-sites are updated much more frequently than the E-sites.)

Anyhow, the release dates for Japane are
FFV:Adv - Oct 12 (This thursday, wheee!!)
FFVI:Adv - Nov 30

No dates for the localization, though I assume it'll be only a few months or so. We'll see. happy.gif *can't wait for FFVI!*

November third? so soon? righteous!. But it seems like so much longer becouse i'm sooo psyched about it. And i don't have the langauge patch so i can't read it, whitch really doesn't matter since i can't read japanese and didn't need to tipe past "it."

Change what? What's wrong with Magic Fighter Tina? Is it the "Magic Fighter" part or the "Tina" part?

I'm fine with them keeping "Magic Fighter," since that's what she is (though I do prefer "Magitek Soldier"). I know that her actual name is Tina. I know that her official name is Tina. I know that, for all intents and purposes, she should be called Tina.

But please God don't let them call her Tina.

It's irrational and wrong of me, I know, but I will be extremely sad if newcomers to FF6 refer to her as Tina instead of Terra. Like the Aeris/th debacle, but worse. But the good news is, if they kept Edward and Kain in FFIV, they're more than likely to do the same thing here.

I hope.

I read somewhere (I'd have to google for the site again) that the estimated US release date is between Jan-Feb, however, there is no confirmation to this.

As far as the Tina thing goes, apparently alot of people wondered the same thing, and on the site (which will be posted in an edit later on) it says that she will remain as Terra because that is what she was called on the SNES and PS1.

To my knowledge, they have no plans to add a job system into the game (which I'm happy for because it doesn't need it).

I'll post more when I know more.

No, it's not. RPGamer.com has had all of those pics up since the Jap release of the SNES version.

I'm excited to see what all they will add in the remake. I hope it's not just a dungeon, 2 new mobs, and an esper. It's one of their greatest installments!

Well, I agree with you...

The Remake needs some addons.FFVI is the greatest of all Final Fantasy Games.

I guess that new equips will be useful too...Or some new 'games' like the colosseum...

Since I haven't seen a comprehensive update so far, I'll go for it:

Confirmed new content in FF VI Advance:

- At least four new Espers: FF V's Gilgamesh, FF VIII's Diablo, FF VIII's Jumbo Cactuar and FF V's Leviahtan. Of the last one, screenshots of him being an opponent have been released.

Gilgamesh appears to once again appear with four swords to randomly pick an attack from. Diablo's "Dark Messengar" attack was a gravity-based attack in FF VIII; who knows what he'll pull out of his sleeve this time. Cactuar as an Esper has a small and a big form, both with different attacks.

- The confirmed new dungeon will have feature lava, chests and levers, not unlike the Phoenix Cave. A new boss dragon with the normal Dragon's sprite (meaning NOT the dummied CzarDragon) will wait at the end/top of the dungeon.

The official US release date is said to be 02/05/2007

The japanese site's been updated since it's opening. For those interested: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ff6/main.html
