Square-Enix recently revealed their new DS title: It's a Wonderful World. It's being designed by Tetsuya Nomura, the mastermind of Kingdom Hearts and the chief designer of FF XIII: Versus of the Fabula Nova Crystalis project. It's a Wonderful World is set in modern Tokyo and stars two unassuming teenagers who are forced into a game run by demons threatening to permanently erase the duo if they don't succeed in the game.

On top of that, players can use the DS's two screens to simultaneously control both characters, who both possess psychic powers. In fact, the duo must read the minds of NPCs in order to obtain hints and clues as to what to do next in their deadly game.

Right now we know that It's a Wonderful World is scheduled for a 2007 release in Japan, with no word on a North American or European release at this time. Thanks to RPGamer for the news.

That does sound sort of interesting. I'll have to keep a look out on that.

My guess is that it's going to be alot like one of those one-person-can't-get-to-the-next-switch-until-the-other-person-hits-the-green-switch-then-visa-versa-but-now-with-a-blue-switch trainwrecks. Or it could be a offbeat, but great idea. Who knows?

I think it will be pretty good. Obviously for the 2 guys it's not a wonderful world.

I hope it has Earthbound flavor to it. Otherwise I'm not getting it. -CSM

Somehow, I doubt that it will, but you never know. It sounds like it'll have a dark tone to me.

Well, that's a nice, fresh, open-minded view. I guess that's one way to pass judgement on a game before it comes out.

I'm with Barrylocke on this one. I'm thinking that It's a Wonderful World will probably have sort of a darker edge to it, like maybe the Persona series. Whatever, only time will tell, right?

Now now, Square-Enix hasn't sunk THAT low yet.

Can't say I like that title though. It sounds... eh... gay? The storyline (or what little of it is known at the moment) and the title make it seem like it's targetted at a younger audience. Super Magical Fun Adventure World! Heh. tongue.gif

Well, it has a good producer backing it up. Could be good. smile.gif

Ouch. Way to rag on one of my favorite games dry.gif

I kinda hope that's it's different from final fantasy. It would be a bit dull for the game to be "FF in MODERN TIMES!"
