Yeah, get the HP Plus materia. I'm not exactly sure where to get it...I think you can get it in either Cosmo Canyon or Junon. Just master one or two of these, and your HP will sore to 9999 with the 40% boost.

If you are asking if you can get your HP up to 9999 without materia, I don't think its possible.

HP Pluses at Cosmo Canyon. 9800 is pretty good though so you probably dont even need HP pluses, unless your putting all the HP consuming materia on the character/s.

Remember back in Junon earlier in the game when you performed that poxy little dance for Rufus? If you do reasonably rubbish in that, (about 80) then you get your HP Plus a little earlier.

You can get everyone to 9999 without any HP Plus. HP growth is random... BUT I've heard that you can get 9999 if you keep re-starting your game at each level until you get a high growth. For example, save the game just before gaining a level. Fight and get the level then reset if the HP increase is too low. Repeat for each level. This takes time obviously so it's only for really over-the-top players - like my buddy. Try it out.

Ouch, i'd go mad after too much of that. pinch.gif

And do you know what the average HP growth per level is for each charactor, so as do decipher what is a high growth and what is not? Or do you just repeat it until you can tell?

What do you base yourself on to say that?

Don't say anything random unless you know what you're talking about. You might as well check this FAQ which fully explains how HP/MP gains are calculated even though they're random.
http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/fi..._party_mech.txt

To make it simple, the min HP gain increases the less max HP you currently have, and the max HP gain reduces the higher HP you have.

I'll just quote TFergusson's chart (stats at lvl99):

Code
HP       MP       Str     Vit     Mag     Spr     Dex     Lck
  Name   Min/Max   Min/Max  Min/Max Min/Max Min/Max Min/Max Min/Max Min/Max
============================================================================
 Cloud  8960-9511  851-905   98-100  89- 96  98-100  93-100  55- 62  22- 29
Barret  9435-9999  748-796   94-100  97-100  78- 85  82- 89  47- 54  20- 27
  Tifa  8513-9037  800-850   89- 96  78- 85  82- 89  89- 96  64- 71  23- 30
 Aeris  8304-8816  942-994   71- 78  76- 83 100-100  98-100  51- 58  21- 28
   Red  8980-9556  814-866   84- 91  85- 92  84- 91  89- 96  71- 78  21- 28
Yuffie  8471-8993  790-841   82- 89  78- 85  85- 92  86- 93  70- 77  25- 32
  Cait  8608-9135  822-869   78- 85  74- 81  89- 96  93-100  51- 58  23- 30
Vincent  8211-8779  859-915   74- 81  74- 81  89- 96  93-100  51- 58  23- 30
   Cid  8682-9284  776-822   85- 92  90- 97  79- 86  83- 90  54- 61  20- 27

So, like The Ancient said, only Barret can reach 9999HP. Max out with materias if you wish to.

Whoops sorry guys. I heard it from a friend like I said. Maybe he did just get Barret's HP and I misunderstood. Thanks for correcting.

I could be wrong about this but I think if you raise your Vitality stats before reaching lvl 99 that you can increase the amount of HP you get per each level.

Notice that Barret who has the most HP in that chart also has the most Vitality.

Guard Sources which you can get by morphing creatures on the underwater crashed plane will raise your vitality by 1 pt each.

Also the Tough Ring accessory, that increases your vitality by 50 and spirit by 50, equiping that right before you gain a level will increase your HP/MP stats and should increase the amount of HP and MP you gain for the new level.

I could be wrong about this but like I said, look at the chart, Aeris has the highest MP at level 99 and her Spirit is the highest.

You can get tough rings by stealing them from Reno in some boss battles.

You really don't need all that materia
Especialy if You're level 99

morph's value is infinately more valuable.

If you're already level 99 you should have no problem winning everything! The game does get a little bit harder at the last boss if you're that high though!
