I was just counting the regular story characters, that is to say humans that join you without recruiting them via Mediator or using the soldier office starting with Alicia, Lavian and Rad in Chapter 2, and I noticed that there are 13 characters in the story. That's the same number of Zodiac Stones. Are these the thirteen chosen Zodiac Braves who must save the world, or is this all just coincidence?

Also doesn't anybody find it odd that of all the people in Ivalice

the vessel of Altima just happens to be Alma Beoulve, sister of Ramza the main character?

For anyone who doesn't get just what drives Ramza, think about how maybe it was destiny. I welcome anyone who reads this to comment on any other "coincidences" you may have noticed.

I'm not so sure about this, but have you looked at their signs (Virgo, Cancer, ect.)? If each of them have a sign that goes with the Zodiac Braves and they are all different signs, then they might have done that for a reason. If not, then maybe it just worked out that way and they never thought about it.

It is an intersting thought actually, acorrding to the zoidac brave legend, at least from what i know, the braves used the power of the stones to save the world. Not the signs which means that if it is inturpted right rather than being a histroy lesson i could of been a premintion of the future. They never really go into great depth on the zodiac brave story, they just say it happened and that its a pivital point in the manipulation of the lion war. It could also be similar to final fantasy 1 where it is a continus reoccuring event thru out time space that recycles every so often its just not as prevalent. As far as the alma aspect i dont think that was ment to be anything too spectacular, i think it was just the fact that they wanted to some how tie her into the final part of the game.

It was no coincidence that Alma was the avatar for Saint Ajora.

I think it's a bit of a reach to say that the character slots were designed with the fulfilling of the Zodiac Brave legend in mind.

on the topic of alma - the way i look at things like this is: the games are about the people who have good stories. Ramza is the main character because Alma was the vessel for Ajora (sure other things made him a great main character) not the other way around.

and on the topic of the braves - i think that the original story revolved around 12 not 13, even though i know there are 13 stones.
