FFT's Dark Holy was just way too cool to pass up for anything else. It was the one spell I always wanted.

Ultima/Holy/Flare/Meteor from FFVIII was pretty impressive looking. I also liked uh...can't think of the summon's name (its a bull). Anyway, Tetra Disaster is kind of cool looking.

I liked Ultima in FFVIII.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view I loved the summon sequence in FFIX. You know the one involving Eiko's Moogle when he, Zorn and Thorn dies. Very sad as well. Edit I loved that part of the game as well. This post has been edited by Silver 09 on 12th August 2006 22:44 |

I loved the Grand Cross animation from FF5. It was cool seeing the orbs rotate around the screen with all of that flashy effects. FFVII's Super Nova was pretty childish (destroying all planets but doesn't even deal 9999 damage to all characters_

My personal favorite is Pearl from FFVI, I assume that would be considered a holy spell...I just love the whole background, sound effects, everything. I alos like the version that is Lv ? Pearl, with just the whit fireball falling from the heavens..I just love pearl!

Summons: Neo Bahamut from FFVII and Quazecotl-Eden from FFVIII
Black magic: FLARE from FFV. too classic but cool White magic: Holy from FFV. too classic but cool Blue magic/enemy skill: Big Guard/Big guardian. especially Big Guard from FFVII kicks ass. -------------------- Ask me ANY FFV question! i always thought Eden from FF8 was cool, an i also thought it was quite amusing using it on bite bugs
but i felt like the gf's made FF8 somewhat easy as they didn't even need MP and had unlimited usage -------------------- In the end, it boils down to two simple choices. Either you do or you don't. |

I'm gonna have to say Meteo from Final Fantasy IV. Not to mention that spell was badass back in the day...you were like OMFG I got Meteo it's on. And the spell sound is cool as well.

Flare and Pearl were pretty intense in FFVI.. Ultima was just too long and it had the poopiest sound effect... "zooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!ZING!! FASCHING!" ... It gets... old after awhile..
I thought FFVII's Odin thing was pretty cool as well. |

I have to say the coolest spells in the entire series are the summons and the ultimate white and black magic spells: Holy and Ultima. FF6 was the original Ultima (as far as I know) and it's still the coolest looking. Holy is awesome in all of the games it appears in. Also, the mighty Apocalypse from FF8 was absolutely phenomenal! It just had "DESTRUCTION!!!!" written all over it!

Not counting summons:
Bolt-3 from FFIV. I'm old-school. Counting summons: FF7 Bahamut or FFX Atma. Or atima, or whatever the heck he was called. It was this creature in chains. -------------------- "That Light has bestowed upon me the greatest black magic!" |

Id have to say its a tie between Northern Cross and Ulitma from FFT. After that its any summon from FFT and then the Dia spells from FF1 (sure they only hurt undead but it looks cool!

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned Nova from X. Considering most of the spells from X suck, in my opinion, that one is the best looking in the series to me. In terms of sound, FFT had the best for watching them on surround sound (especially Shiva!). My favorite enemy spell is Flare Star from IX and summon would have to be Alexander from VIII. There's so many awesome looking spells, so I HAVE to mention Quezacotl (VIII), Flare (IX), and any of the full strength spells from Chronicles on Gamecube.

I've never heard of a spell called Ozone in FF6! It's possible you mean X-Zone, which is what I would say! I like how you can tell during the spell if somebody is being sucked into the X-Zone or not!

But in all seriousness; I just beat FFIV for the GBA and I don't like what they did with the Meteo'r' spell. I like how it used to make the *peeu peeu peeu* sound...and the colors were cooler in the old one as well This post has been edited by w00tah86 on 31st October 2006 23:24 -------------------- " Video Games are bad for you? I've always thought that Holy and Meteor have been amazing in any Final Fantasy they are featured in, and even more so in VII's FMVs.
