So Ive decided that I want to get a few characters with maxed out stats.

To get them to lvl 99 is easy. Enemy lure, Pre-emptive, counter attack, a rubber band on the analog stick, turbo button on the "ok" button, and a corner of a world map. Go to the Midel area and the next thing you know youve gained 10 lvls and your materia is mastered. Cool.

But then I realized that even though my character has a lvl of 99, they are no where close to maximum stats. Thats when I remembered that the monsters in Gelnika morph into sources. I thought I had a brilliant plan.

I equip Yuffie with Conformer, Rune Armlet, Ribbon. Then for materia I have Sneak Attack <-> Morph, Counter <-> Mime, Counter Magic <-> Cure, and cover. With sneak attack, counter, counter magic, and cover mastered, I figured I would start the battle with morph. Since most of the monsters have over 9999hp, I realized that i would need to somehow morph again. Using the turbo button on "ok" wouldnt work cause that would only result in an attack to kill the monster and no source. So thats where the Counter <-> Mime and Counter Magic <-> Cure come in. Yuffie would cure herself of the damage taken and then morph the enemie into the source and whalla, everything is beautiful.

Unfortunately, a few things went wrong. First off, Yuffie doesnt sneak attack EVERY singe time. That results in a bad loop. Yuffie cures herself, them mimes the cure. So one battle simply lasts until she is out of mana. I thought of a way to fix that. Instead of doin Counter <-> Mime, I would have to get my hands on another Morph. This would look like this: Sneak Attack <-> Morph, Counter <-> Morph, Counter Magic <-> Cure. So this way, even if she doesnt Sneak Attack Morph, the counter still results in a morph. (I will have to master the morph I currently have and then I will have a second morph available, and Ill let you know how it goes.)

The second and BIGGEST problem of all, is finding a place in Gelnika to "grind". In the world map there are many corners to keep the character running. I cant find one for the life of me! Please if any of you know of a place to constantly run, PLEASE let me know.

Lets break it down for a second. Lets say hypothetically at lvl 99 the character has every stat at 125. (this is no where close to true, but hypothetically speaking) With the max stat being 225, That means that I would need 100 sources to raise one stat to its max. Seeing as how there are 6 different stats to be raised, that means that there would need to be 600 sources. Since each battle only produces one source (one monster) that would mean sitting around and fighting 600 battles just to get one character to max. THATS JUST ONE CHARACTER!!! Thats why Im trying to find a way to "Auto-battle" inside the Gelnika.

Any feed back is appreciated. A better materia settup, a location inside Gelnika to auto-battle, or even a "it wont work Ive tried" is appreciated.

Thanks again

Okay first of all you've got the right idea. The difference I had was that I had Sneak Attack/Morph, Sneak Attack/Morph, Sneak Attack/Morph and so on. The enemy doesn't get an attack in, hands down. Also you don't need to fight 600 battles. For the Luck Sources you fight 4 enemies at once and the Speed Sources is 2 a battle. But the rest are all 1 at a time; gutted I know. As for a place to run along, I've not found one. I just had to run a lot whilst listening to the radio...

If you need to get more mastered Morphs and Sneak Attacks then do what you did to get level 99 only equip double and triple growth weapons and armour. My choice would be the Apocolypse for Cloud and Rune Armulets for everyone. The others all have double growth weapons as well; Cid has a Scimitar which has two triple growth slots. My advice to you would be to give someone the HP<->MP materia and also Sneak Attack/Ultima. It's a little quicker and you can walk away for long periods of time. But yeah the turbo pad saves so much time it's unbelievable.

I dont know a place where u can get the turbo technique to work but for the attacking couldent you set the memory to cursor and just use morph every time im not sure if this works for FF7 i havent played in a while.

Unforturnately, I dont think that will work Blazing Blaze.

The cursor preset to memory works within the same battle, but doesnt save the position for the next battle. That would have been remarkably easy if that were available.

It still souds like sweetdudes multiple Sneak Attack/Morph is the best setup yet. Mine was too complicated and strung out, where as his was quick, hard hitting, and easy to set up.

I don't understand why just using turbo and the drain HP materia wouldn't work... if you set the cursor to memory it should always be on the morph command once you select it, and the attack should drain HP so you stay at full health. Am I wrong?

No but i dont thing the cursor stays on the same spot after the battle like at the end of the battle it will go back to attack and not back to morph.

Huh... I'm gonna have to pop the game in and check, cause I was sure the cursor would stay.
