What is your favorite weapon class?

I chose swords, although I'm also a magic fan. Swords are honorable in their own special way, and require a good deal of skill to use. And you can always make an imposing pose by pulling out your sword and staring at someone.
I'd have an opinion similar to RoughKnightVII's; I'd like some amount of magic to back me up--especially since I'm not the strongest or best-armored person in the world. I generally prefer to attack at a distance if possible, because it cuts down on the likelihood of getting hurt myself. Interestingly, the character equivalent of myself in my RPG uses staffs, and is a combination of red mage and blue mage (hence "purple"). I'm not sure if I should let him use straightswords as well, but his most powerful weapon will definitely be a staff. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. i always like the stave just for the versatility it has...and i think it looks cool

I like Hammers, possibly because I destroyed a ceiling with one yesterday (we're renovating, it wasn't random violence)

Swords are too generic IMO. Sure it takes skill to use one, but we are talking about a game.
