Hello people.
In first place, I'd like to say that I got impressed when I saw that STILL exists a Forum about this incredible game that Final Fantasy VII is. In second place, I really don't know how you're going to behave about my question, but this Brazilian guy here gotta try it. And the question is: I've been searching for the best Walkthrough for Final Fantasy VII, now that I'm playing it again. I got a 10 years old brazilian "magazine-book" called Gamers Book, which is the best Walkthrough in my language. BUT I'd like the best EVER. Then, I knew there's one called Versus Books that made a Walkthrough (so called "the best") about the game. I searched for it and found in Amazon, but the prices are VERY high ($100..). Then, I'd like to know if you know any "alternative" way to have it (download, etc..). Now you understand my "fear" about posting this question... I don't know how is your behavior about this way of "acquiring" thing. Thank you all. Falassion |

I dont think there is a "best" walkthrough. A good one would have detailed information, side quests, chocobo guide, and Materia and how to obtain all of them. CoN is good, but if you found a good one with your language, you should stick with it.

i have the versus book. it's the one i used the first time i played through ff7. it's pretty comprehensive, but it's based on the japanese build of ff7, so there are some translation discrepancies and a few game-mechanical deviations in the book from the NA version of the game. i don't know which version you have, but i would assume it's probably the NA version, in which case you should definitely check out the walkthrough at this very site, which is one of the best available on the web. it covers some additional information about certain side-quests and such that the versus book didn't go into as much detail about, anyway.

I checked many articles and links and absolutely forgot to take a look at the Walkthrough! Well, taking a rapid look, really looks like a good one. But I just was really curious about Versus one. It's so discussed and everybody says it's so good (AND IT'S SO DAMN EXPENSIVE TOO!) that I just HAVE to take a look at that. If somebody could scan one or two pages on Scanner and post/MP me, then I can take a look at the style of writing and the design of it, I would be very pleased. Again, thank you for your replys. I am very happy for your attention. =] ... And, as long as I have more time, I'll take a closer look at CoN's Walkthrough. Looks REALLY good, but I think I noticed a thing that NO Walkthrough ever had. But I'll be sure when I really read it. Baba, and thanks again. |

I too have the Versus book, as well as the "Official" BradyGames one. I don't have the opportunity to scan any pages at the moment, but I really can't comprehend why it's going for $50.00 and above on eBay right now. It's frankly not THAT great. The design of it is pretty badly cluttered in parts, and it does have some errors and such. I think the only thing it actually might offer above and beyond what CoN has is full visual maps, and maps you can get from other printed guides that will cost you less.

That's why I got SO curious: the price is kinda high. And what maps do you talk about? Dungeon maps? If yes, it's a interesting, but a bit useless thing (well, if you are in Icicle Labyrinth... ![]() I still wait for a "good soul" that Scan me some pages. Thanks again for the replys. |
