Red XIII. He would put the story into such a unique perspective and make the very end of the game that much more significant and prolly answer the question: "How does Red get little cubs?" plus, it would be soooo cool if the main character is an animalistic creature rather than a sword-weilding human being?

Barret and Yuffie have long-range too, you know. And don't forget the "Long Range" materia.

I'm happy with Cloud. He has the best limit breaks at the beginning.

In the end, it boils down to two simple choices. Either you do or you don't.

I agree Freebird and choose Red XIII I mean, he has some pretty awesome limits too. He has decent magical ability, high HP and defense and his story seems more complete than anyone else's. Plus it would be a nice change of pace to have a non sword weilding, blonde, 'mysterious' lead character with a conflicted past. I mean, let's get some variety, neh?

If you just started out as the character with all the same story and development? Probably just Barret or Tifa. But if it changed the entire story by doing so? Then I'd want Cid because I would like to know more of his background and whatnot. Dragoons are usually the characters that attract me the most, except Freya in 9 'cause she looks more like a Redmage.

If you use the secret menu option action replay code you can play the game as a different character

it's called uso i think and I have played the game with young cloud and sephiiroth and aerith in my team

(I once played the game through with 2 clouds and a young cloud )
