When you look at your status sometimes in FF8 you see a sort of shooting yellow star next to your level. What is it?

Oh goodness, I don't know if I remember...do any abilities affect your level at all? It's been too long.

It's been awile here too, but I think it's maxed status. I forget which, ps1 broke down looong time ago.

If we're thinking of the same thing, then it's merely a symbol showing you who's currently in the party? Is it always on the 1-3 party members in your current group? If I'm wrong, then I'm not sure what it is, but Dragon might be correct on his theory.
