ive just done this and i was wondering if anyone else has finished one. this means only Enemy skill materia. no attacking, no magic, no summons, no limits, initial equiping, no accesories, no commands (other than Enemy Skill), no support materia, no independant materia. only Enemy skill. but you can use items of course...its a fun challenge and i had fun obliterating things with Beta and Aqualung very early in the game. of course the challenge starts right after Midgar. and since you cant have Choco lure...that means you get through the marsh...the hard way


the letters stand for

Enemy Skill Only, Initial Equiping, No attacking, No materia, No Limits

This'll be tedious without manipulate, at least you get multiple E. skill materia.
I'll try this out, but It'll be awhile, when i fell like playing FFVII again I'm going to do the initial eqipment challenge cloud only. Then I'll try The ESIIEOC(ESkillItemInitialEquipOnlyChallenge) or whatever you want to call it.

Ahh good you can use manipulate, It was going to get annoying towards the end without white wind.

oops...i forgpt the only other materia you can use is Manipulate....


its pretty hard to not use limits...its very tempting. but once i got Beta and Aqualung (and magic breath later) the game was over in my eyes

It'd be purer if you couldn't use Manip. But I agree that it is a good thing you can for sanity, and also so you can heal.

Big Guard and White Wind are awesome in that department. Flamethrower is good early damage for few MP, and Beta/Aqualung/Trine will get you through later. Very late game it's going to be tougher to damage some things, but it should be highly possible. Magic Hammer and Matra Magic will be good at times, as well.

Also, levelling will be important so you'll have eough MP to get from one area to another.

EDIT: Forgot Magic Breath. That'll make things easier.

Trust me I do. I can't find myself ever doing a challenge like that, but meh you never know eh

I'd rather attempt the challenge of taking up flight using my arms as wings.

I wish I could try these challenges but I have not the zeal nor desire to do so. A better challenge for me would be to simply play Final Fantasy VII again. I beat it more times than I beat my wife. I never beat my wife though, so bad analogy..

I know what it's like. I beat the demon gate very quickly because of beta

beta made everything easy, especially when i got aqualung from the harpies in the deset under gold saucer. only accessable through the buggy
