in the 'Tycoon' section after walz tower, it says that the chancelor gives you the healing staff...i just did it about 15 seconds ago and i got a Monster bell from him. im on the PS version so that probably makes a difference, but im not sure. i think he gave me the monster bell AND the healing staff because i have both but it just said monster bell....i dont know...im confused

I'm not sure of the answer here but we'll try to remedy that in the new walkthrough, which is in progress now.

Yea, I remember getting the Giyaman (or whatever the heck it was called in the translated ROM) from him and wondering what I was supposed to do with it. So yea, I can verify that. I don't know about the Healing Staff, though...I remember having one but I don't remember where I got it.

dame. he definately gave me the monster bell...but i cant remeber where i got the healing staff...so maybe he just gives it to you also...aghhh im going in circles

He gives you the Monster Bell, but the same conversation also puts the Healing Staff in your inventory, unprompted. I remember some time ago being very confused by this, and gamefaqs provided that explanation, which fit the facts, I guess.
