Short of using a game genie or other device, this cannot happen to you. However, if you were using such a device to, say, change the encounter group ID or some such alteration, you would indeed be stuck on the island.

Actually this has happened to me before, and to the best of my recollection I was not using a Game Genie (it's been a few years). I had to go back to a save point before the getting-stuck-on-island bit.

Zone Eaters don't appear in the World of Balance.

What Djibriel said.
A cheating device or some form of hacking would be required for such an event to occur (Zone Eaters appearing in the WoB, that is). To my knowledge, the only glitch known of that results in quickly transcending worlds - Game Genie or not - involves the rat-infested rafters area of the opera house when in the WoR. If a hacking-induced bug of this manner indeed exists, it's likely a relatively unknown one. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If you're playing on a ROM, it may have been "badly dumped" (although I'm not too sure what that means myself, and whether that could explain a glitch like that).
I have not encountered this glitch before, and as SilverFork said, the only similar glitch that I know of is the opera house rats glitch. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Can someone perhaps tell me or link me to somewhere that explains this rat-infested rafter glitch?

^ Simple. Return to the opera house in the WoR and, if there're any left, fight one of the rats in the upstairs area above the rafters. If you lose the fight, Ultros will push the weight onto the stage as if it were the WoB opera sequence (but, strangely, the image of Ultros himself won't actually be there). Your party will reappear outside, but it will be the WoB again with the Veldt music incorrectly playing.
In my experience, the game will freeze up if you try to trigger any scenes exclusive to the WoB, and your party will still be KO'd if you enter any random battles, thus the "death" sequence will play out and you'll reappear where you last saved in the WoR. I've also heard that entering towns while the glitch is active will be problematic. This bug can't be exploited in all releases of FFVI, though; only the Japanese version and perhaps certain North American versions (I dunno which ones) will carry over any of the rats to the WoR, making the glitch possible. For future reference, this and other glitches can also be looked up in Master ZED's Bug Guide. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. I just wanted to mention that that guide is really awesome.
And I'll go try out that rat glitch right now. This post has been edited by Zeromus_X on 5th July 2006 14:02 -------------------- |

Hi. I just started here today. I just wanted to point out a funny glitch on the SNES version. I forget how it happend but I was in the veldt in the WOB training with Gau and I think I tried to get Relm to sketch Gau and it messed up my game but I had all of these rare weapons like the Paladin shield. I don't really remember anything else about it because I played the SNES version like 10 years ago. I'm not too sure how it happend either. Has this happend to anyone else?

Should probably make a new thread for that...
but yeah, that's the Sketch Glitch. Nothing like losing save files and gaining 255 of every item. -------------------- |
