wow i can't believe i didn't notice this before
but Crono from CT is also left handed


still surprises me that after all the time i've played ct i've only noticed it now

So more left handed characters listed there, i was just about to post yoshimitsu from Tekken, but then I saw this and was quite surprised to learn that Tifa from FFVII is left-handed.

I can't believe I didn't notice this before, but Ganon is left handed as well, in Alttp he is holding the harpoon in his left hand, and in art drawn for OoT ganon has his knife holster on his left leg.

Well that would make a lot of sense. That means that all three holders of trifore pieces are left handed. Interesting that the triforce also appears on their hand.

In FFT, many characters may be depicted as being ambidextrous. Delita, Rofel, and other battle sprites depict some characters as lefty despite almost everybody has a weapon (by default) in their right hand. If Delita didn't have his sword in his right hand, I'd swear he'd be a lefty, too from the official artwork and when he slays Minister Gelwan with his sword in his left.

Well, some people can be ambi and better with one hand, like me for instead. I'm left-handed ( <---Hey, even the thumbs up smiley is left-handed...), and I can use my right hand for like holding silverware for eating, I just can't write or draw well with it.

Hmmm...I wonder if Kiros is left-handed...

To clear this up...
Sephiroth is right handed
he holds the Masamune BACKWARDS in hisleft hand, as to draw the weapon with his right.
also, in battle,he holds his right hand closer to the blade, a pure indication when using a katana, no matter how long, Seph is right handed.
Vincent is a lefty though, he holds the gun in his right hand to save the energy in his left for melee attacks (DoC)

THanks for the information on Vincent I had a felling he may have been left handed, but never any actual data. As for Sephiroth, you can watch this video, as much as hate kingdom hearts for what it has done to many FF characters, the fighting should establish Sephiroth as a left hander. especially when he blocks. youtube

Btw, Barret (FFVII) is left-handed...mainly because he doesn't have a right hand.

Developing your your so much via martial arts results in becoming ambidextrous. The same goes for pianistsbut it may take longer. I doubt any fighter would want to remain a righty or a lefty when they can become ambidextrous.

So your images really tells nothing about Ryu, sorry.

Ambidexterity ftw! Sorry lefties fans.

In any fighting stance left-handers will have their left foot forward, hand placememnt may vary. Also the bottom-left pic is definately left handed his chin is closer to the left shoulder. Are you sure you weren't talking about the bottom-right pic?

I'm pretty sure it's a joke, I would joke about that myself if i was one of the game creators.

Sephiroth in KH is left-handed yes, but he was originally right-handed. So, do we classify him as ambidexterous or unknown?

As for Ryu, I don't mean tobe offensive or anything here, but, if a martial artists left foot is forward, they are right handed, and vice-versa. (Those three years of karate paid off!)

Also, I think that Eliwood from Fire Emblem is, and Serge from CC.

Sepphiroth has always been left-handed, In the art drawn by nomura, in the battle against the dragon, in the picture with tifa and Zack.

And in all martial arts i've done staggered stance is left foot forward, and that's judo and juijitsu. Even in Bruce lee's studies righties lead with the right foot lefties lead with the left.

That's never a definate, when starting martial arts it is very easy to become ambidexterous, but not all fighters do. Lefties may start in a left-handed position, but shift to right to change the tempo of the fight. Gain control/dominance. Not all Mrtial artists become ambi.

So I've decided to delve further into Ryu.

Also note that villians are more likeyl to be left-handed. This comes from Ancient Rome, where right handed things were "dexter" (where we get dextrous), or good, and left things were "sinister", or bad.
