Go to northern crater and find the place that looks like a swamp, make your save crystal there if you havent already and fight magic pots and movers (orange bouncing balls) theyll give you 1000 ap per pot and 2400 for 3 of the movers.

you have to give each individual one an elixir then kill them. and unfortunatly megalixirs. and they should keep appearing its a random battle thing though so it could take a while, thats why its a pain in the butt. you could go to Mideel and fight those guys i think 4 of the grasshoper things gives you about 200-300 AP i think Northern Crater is faster though just keep trying. try finding triple AP weapons like Apocalypse for Cloud. and find some double AP armor things. Good luck

Have Yuffie and Cid on your team along with Cloud and go to that swamp. Equip Cloud with the Triple Growth "Apocolypse" sword, which can be found in the ancient forest. Equipe Yuffie with the Double growth "Rising Sun" which can be stolen from Diamond Weapon. Equip Cid with the Triple growth Scimitar, which I believe can be found after you beat the boss Carry Armor, right before you obtain the submarine. Make sure you have W-Item and use the W-Item trick to max out your Elixers.
Elixers=99 Cloud=Apocolypse (Triple AP Growth) Cid=Scimitar (Triple AP Growth) Yuffie=Rising Sun (Double AP Growth) Now Put whatever Materia you want to master on your weapons. Find the Magic Pots, if you run into them, before you attack them, give them an Elixer. Then Kill them off. If you run into Movers (Little Orange-ish Bouncing Balls) Kill them off. This will give you so much AP you'll have mastered Materia in no time. If you didn't get the three weapons I stated above, then it's going to take a little longer to master, but those two Enemies (Magic Pots, Movers) Are the best monsters to gain AP regardless. Hope this helped some. -------------------- (Comical Voice) "Say Cloud, why don't you change your party? Who shall we choose? How about......Yuffie and Cait Sith.....Just kidding guys! Besides Magic Pots, if you go to the beach near Mideel and fight the giant sand worm things, they give you 200 AP.

Here's a little thing i do for AP growth:
Cloud:Apocalypse and a bangle with 2x growth. Cid:Javelin and a Bangle with 2x growth. Yuffie:Rising Sun and Bangle with 2x growth. Or Vincent:Buntline and bangle with 2x growth. Then go to the Northern Cave and fight magic pots and movers. This post has been edited by One_Winged_Angel on 23rd June 2006 10:00 |

The command materia should usually be used with the triple growth weapons, since they take long. Also I tend to equip my characters with the Rune Armlet as well, I keep an extra three when I go there for more AP boost. Wizard Bracelet works well if you are beginning, and you want to finish everything all at once. Also if you have an emulator, the process of getting tons of 5 star materia is 4-8 times faster cause of that convenient "increase game to 200 frames per Second" button ![]() Also I prefer Vincents Double AP growth cause it has linked slots. -------------------- Who is Byblos? |

( Secret Scene With Aeris If You Go To Gongaga And Talk To Zacks Parent Too! ) And Last Of All On Disc 3 Or 1 Where You Can Fight A See WormNear Mideel ( The Little Brown Islands ) Which Gives You 200ap For Me With Platnium Bangle So I Could Get 400Ap Right Now Im In Disc 2 At Level 76 -------------------- |

Also I prefer Vincents Double AP growth cause it has linked slots. the way materia are distributed in ff7 in terms of ap needed to master/clone, it's far more beneficial to have cid's javelin, which multiplies and distributes the ap given by the monster by a whopping 10, the highest in the game, than his scimitar, which, paltry in comparison, only multiplies the ap given by 6. the really big summons and such can be given to cloud on his apocalypse (which, at 9x, isn't a bad weapon anyway). if you're trying to get master sets of materia -- which is really the general reasoning behind maximising ap gain, isn't it? -- you'll have *lots* of other materia to level up. yuffie's rising sun, which you get from diamond weapon, has double slots and is even stronger than vincent's (not to mention she has superior limit breaks and, with comformer, is invaluable for stat-maxing). |

I'd rather just go to the Sunken Plane and spend the night there training. 300 AP or so (not bad), and pretty good EXP and really easy as hell.

Movers...from ffv (they also gave 199 ABP there, more than the 100 ABP that Omega and Magic Pot give). I see that the Movers returned to FFVII for revenge! 2400 AP that rocks!

When I leveled up, I ran around in the forest around Mideel. I used Apocolypse on Cloud and I had a Slash-All on Barret. This actually worked really well, and didn't require any cheating like using W-Item to multiply elixers.
I think in about 4 hours I mastered my Double-Cut, Slash-All, and about 8 or 9 HP and MP Plusses. The Double-Cut and Slash-All when I started were only about 1/3 mastered and I only had about 3 HP and 3 MP plusses. It went a lot faster than I thought. -------------------- Status: FF6 -- Finished!
