Okay, as I generally don't exploit a game's bugs and whatnot (mainly because I'm too lazy to ever even try), I've never used this. However, this time around, I'm rather short on funds since I tried to spend as little time leveling up as possible. So, I decided to give it a go. And...it didn't work. And it continues to not work. I followed the directions on this site exactly, and it didn't do anything. Although, one of the items did manage to disappear without me ever using it...I've tried everything. Am I really going to have to run around for who knows how many hours, trying to earn gil, just to get the items I need to finish the game? Help is much appreciated, y'all.

Okay, I'll try explaining it.

1- Select W-Item.

2- Select one item, and select a target for it.

3- Select the second item, and a target, but do not confirm the target. (i.e., the finger is on the target, but you haven't hit O.K.)

4- Cancel. There will be one of the first item you used put into your inventory. (Even if you only had one, you'll still be okay, it won't just disappear.)

5. Repeat as many times as necessary. Now sell Sylkis Greens for cash! (After you use them on your chocobos, that is.

6- Don't feel guilty. Just laugh at the programmers' oversight. xP

^^ Yup, that is the perfect explanation, follow it word for word. If you do it differently, then you can make items dissapear instead, so practise with cheap items like potions first, if you are worried.

Yes, it is a good explanation. It's also exactly the same as the one on this site, and who knows how many others. I have done it word-for-word. I tried this for who knows how long last night, tried it again several times this morning. It always either makes the item disappear, or doesn't do anything. I may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but I know how to follow directions. I'm not saying these instructions are wrong, in fact, I'm sure they're completely accurate, but it's simply not working. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you find a way to make it work? I've just about given up, and resigned myself to spending far, far longer fighting than I want to, so...yeah.

5. Repeat as many times as necessary.

Repeat steps 3 and 4, not the whole thing. I think you have to cancel and confirm that second item at least twice before you can start duplicating the first item. It's not like they fixed this bug for later releases (my copy is a Greatest Hits release). You're not just giving up after cancelling the second item once, are you?

As is mine. No, like I've said, I've tried this numerous times. It takes the item away when I select it in the menu. When it goes to the part where you select a target, I cancel. The item goes back in my inventory. I do it again, same thing happens. It's not duplicating it, just putting the thing back in my inventory because I decided not to use it. Same thing as when you're using an item normally. And of course, there's the occasional item disappearance, even though I don't do anything differently. I try it at least 5 times each time I attempt it, so if it took one or two times to start duplicating, it should have by now. I'm really starting to wonder if my game's just...buggy. I've noticed a lot of odd things about it the last couple of games, but I can't find anything that might cause this.
Of course, it doesn't much matter now. I've bought all the Sylkis Greens I'm going to (maxed out my Gold Chocobo, and he's still slower than my Black one), and I usually don't have to use Megalixers or Hero Drinks after this point. Still, it bugs me that it didn't work.

It should work the first time, you don't have to 'keep trying' until it works. Yeah, repeat the select/cancel until you have as many of the first item as you want.

Okay. Well, I guess I am the only person to experience this. Thanks for trying to help...but it's still not working. No use worrying about it, I guess. I tried it once again after I read everyone's posts, and it didn't work that time, either. I read on another site that exiting completely out of the item menu and doing it again works. Yeah, it doesn't. So, I've made no progress, and I doubt I'm ever going to. But I'll keep checking this thread, just in case.

Well, it could just be your game...if that's the case, than I don't really know how to help. :/ Sorry.

Have you ever used a Gameshark with the game or are you using one now? There's a thread floating around about how it can mess with your game by causing glitches like this. If not, than it may just be a game glitch. I've experienced two "new game" glitches in my FF7 lifetime, don't feel bad. smile.gif

Nope, no Gamesharks. I guess it really is just a glitch...I was kinda hoping someone had experienced this before. Guess I'm the only one. I'm really starting to worry that my game's just defective, since there aren't any scratches on it or anything, and I've been experiencing very...odd things lately (wrong music playing at the wrong time, enemies simply NOT attacking me for anything in the world, things like that). Well, thanks again. *sigh*

Hmmm well you can always buy another FF7 game. pinch.gif But how do we know all this is true. Im not directly calling you a liar, but not using a gameshark and the disc/s aren't scratched...too strange. If you bought it off of EBay maybe someone hacked it i don't know how but just a small guess.

It isn't out of the question that it just won't work for her copy. I guess you'll have to do things the 'moral' way. xD

Or get a new copy, that might work. (Can't be too expensive.)

Actually....you are. Besides, Gamesharks aren't the root of all evil, nor do they cause such serious issues (normally). If I were using one, that still wouldn't explain it. Oh well, no hard feelings.
Yeah..not expensive, no, but I've sorta gotten attached to this copy *snuggles*. Lol, yeah, where's the fun in morality? Anywho, that's okay. I'm still finishing the game with over 13 million gil happy.gif
