hhmm thats a tough one. zell got the awesome combos, tifas just strong and has got some sweet limit breaks, and although rikku in FFX isnt that strong, mix is one of the best abilities ive ever come across. for me, its a toss up between tifa and rikku, perhaps with the slightest edge to tifa.

even though that he's not here i thought that Sabin was the best.
Zell:Very useful with the Armageddon Fist Technique. Tifa:Limit Breaks are powerful and useful. Rikku:The mixing part makes her a useful ally. Edit So i think that they're pretty evenly matched. This post has been edited by One_Winged_Angel on 8th June 2006 18:35 |

Zell is the most powerful of these three.

I can't decide between Yang or Sabin. I think in a fight to the death Yang would probably win though, just given his vastly superior experience to Sabin's.

FFIV: Yang FFVI: Mash (Fine, Sabin whatever) FFVII: Tifa FFVIII: Zell* FFIX: Salamander (maybe? He's kinda a mix of all the ninja/samurai/monk classes. I don't know if he'd count.) I think that's all the monks. I can't think of any more, at any rate. -------------------- |

if im not mistaken (but please, correct me if im wrong), rikku does wield daggers in FFX2, but she uses knuckles in FFX. all i can remember is that damn gods hand.

Zell is the man! One of the outright coolest character in FF's history. No knock on Tifa, she as awesome a martial artist as everyone else said with her sweet Limits, but I have to give it up for my man, Zell Dincht

Rikku only uses knuckles in her first appearance. In X-2 she uses all types of crap...but anyway..
I would have to say that I found Sabin the most useful as well, too bad he isn't a choice. Of the choices I would have to say Zell...just cause. -------------------- This is a webcomic and gaming blog where I rant about nonsense. Enjoy. I was a soldier, now I just play one in video games. |

Here's a clear up. Rikku is technically a Thief, and she uses Mix as her Overdrive. However, her weapoins are claws/knuckles, which are traditionally monk weapons.
Here's a list of all the monks in Final Fantasy to date: Monk / Master (FFI) Josef (FFII) Monk (FFIII) Yang (FFIV) Monk (FFV) Sabin / Mash (FFVI) Tifa (FFVII) Zell (FFVIII) Amarant (FFIX) Rikku (FFX) Monk (Tactics) White Monk (Tactics Advance) Let me know if I missed any. |

Sorry, I forgot to post my favorite. Out of those choices, I'd choose Zell, just because his breaks were awesome, although Rikku and Tifa were good, too. Overall, I'd pick the Tactics Monk, because he was sooooo broken.

Rikku isnt a monk like they have already said; I think Tifa looks like a 10 cent whore (even though she can kick ass) and Zell was annoying. So none of those choices. I like Monks from FF5 more then them.

Well Zell was definetly a stronger character but i think that i Prefer Tifa. Zell was an awesome charachter, sweet tattoo

For anyone who thinks Tifa is cooler because she can lift Sephiroth's sword, remember that Sabin can lift trains, giants, and even buildings. That's much better than lifting a sword. -CSM

It's good to see Tifa's getting 100% of the votes!
Zell hails from FFGreat, but Tifa's a rough-cut angel who fell out of FFHeaven. For everything that happened to her (the tremendous backstory) she has the most heart. Rikku is another woman who overcame a lot, but Tifa's growing love and later devotion to Cloud, willingness to keep fighting, and admirable mothering qualities, make her the Monk without peer. Sorry Rikku. You suffer from hanging out with Tidus and Yuna in FFBest. Ha!* * I found an approximate-rhyme to 'X'.
