I picked it up along with my iPod last week, and I love it to death.
Its nothing like a real guitar, but its fun, thats for sure.

My favorite song is "Even Rats," one of the bonus songs. BUY IT!

You know, I've spent years shredding on real guitars, playing in bands and all kinds of musical clowning around, to the point that I believed my playing skills were reasonably good. So, I saw a bunch of kids playing this at a mall downtown the other day and decided to check it out, I mean, I really play guitar so it should be no problem, right?

Well, those kids schooled me at the game. So, I picked it up and started playing it until it was completely at my mercy, then I realized I'd still much rather have my real guitar and be done with it. So I wrapped it up and gave it to my little cousin to enjoy, because he's 9 and always wants to take one of my guitars home with him.

It's a fun game nevertheless.

I've really wanted this game for a while. I think the only two things keeping me from it is that it seems a little pricey and I already have a real guitar. I still want to try it out though.

A couple friends of mine purchased this (and got together so they could have 2-player mode with guitars). It's pretty fun, but indeed a bit pricey for purchase. I used to love going to arcades occasionally and playing this, a drumming game, and a DJ-mixing platter game, just for the novelty.

One of my friends at my dorm got it, and our floor had some fun with it.

The guitarist among us did remark that the "fingering" in the game was actually quite off, despite rumors to the contrary.

A rather interesting game, and probably more easily manageable than DDR. Partly because the layout of commands going past the "hit me" line is positionally identical to the layout of them on the controller--unlike DDR, where the pad is a plus-sign and the arrows are all in a row on the screen. Heh, I was never good at these "music videogames" anyway.

I've never heard of Guitar Hero, but I can assume its kind of like a DDR with a guitar. I'd probably like it, but the whole wrong notes would probably piss me off and make me sit in the corner with my guitar for several hours. Not like I don't do that anyways. But I do love DDR to death. It's extreme.

GuitarHero recently was clearanced out by most retailers. It's dropped from around
$80 to less than $40--much more affordable, and no longer in the instant-trouble
range from SO's. Because, although logic tells me we spend more on Netflix for her
than we even come close to on games for me, there's a hidden multiplier on gaming
that only feminine intuition has that Move-Find ability to see.

I find that most interesting. Thanks for sharing, DF. I would have figured that a real guitar player would own in that game right off the bat.

Easily the funnest game I've ever played on the PS2...possiblyy any console. It was short lived though. Guitar broke on me after a few months and the manufacturers wouldn't repair it. Sent it to some friends to mickey mouse and hopefully I'll be able to get back to it.

Did have some issues with the guitar beforehand though. It's hard for me to hold since I'm left handed. I gotta use my strumming hand to keep it up while smacking the strummer bar and I can't strum up and down or the thing will do some whiplash on me and register a note I didn't play. Really hindered me and kept me from getting far on hard before it choked. Oh well.

I'd trust the opinion of anyone who reads Ozy&Millie Comics.
And dragons have unique perspectives on games, as well.
