Terra, she always seemed pretty annoying to me, I never understood her intentions one bit, and as of recent have started leaving her to rot in mobliz

On my first playthrough, I didn't like Gau, only becuase i didn't understand rage, but felt that his sprite looked pretty cool.
Now I like Having Gau in my party not only is he a godsend in a LLG, and if you use the wind god set-up he is quite a force

The character that I used to like, but now have seen how useless he is, is Sabin, his blitzes are flashy and seem to be dealing heavy damage, but after I learned more about FFVI I realized that he doesn't stack up to a lot of the other characters (which is sad because Sabing is a pretty cool guy, and the blitz system was a nice change of pace)

Edit
I can't believe i forgot about Cyan, his swordtech was horrible leaving you to always use dispatch, and he has the personality of a stick in the mud, except for when he isn't depressed about something

I'm going to break this into two categories, least favorite in storyline and least favorite in gameplay.

For storyline, my least favorite is Gogo. You just don't learn ANYTHING about gogo, he/she just joins you for no reason, and he/she doesn't contribute at all to the storyline. As for most annoying character, I'd say Relm.

For gameplay, Cyan and Sabin. Cyan's swordtechs take way too long to execute (you have to sit there for nearly 2 ATB bars worth of time before you can use Quadra Slice!) and the reason I play RPG's is because they're easy select-a-command-and-go games, and Sabin's blitzes turn it into a tekken-style fighting game where you have to enter in all the complicated commands, and if you mess up you get nothing from it...and I tend to mess up alot, even when using the basic moves like AuraBolt...have only pulled off a BumRush a few times in my life...I think it partially has to do with my SNES controller sucking, but I just don't like Sabin all that much. Mog is another who disappointed me, his dances fail far too often for my tastes, even a level 99 mog. I think Mog's chances to successfully dance should be his level/100, so if he is level 99 he would have a 99% chance to pull off a dance...that would make him more appealing to me.

I'd also like to add that I wish Gogo could equip espers. If only you could fix up Gogo's stats a bit naturally...but I guess that would make the game easier than it already is, which isn't even possible anymore

You might as well ask a mother which newborn child she wants to give up...but I guess Umaro. Never really cared for him, although I love the constant attacks.

Well, that is intentional. Y'know, the whole "I'm the really secret and mysterious optional character with no backstory" thing.

I haven't nearly gotten far yet, but I think I might say Gogo, but that's because I never liked Mimes.

Edit
I posted my favorite FFVI characters earlier. I should read the entire topic titles before I post tongue.gif .

I almost never use Setzer or Cyan. I don't care much for random attacks cause my timing is always crappy (yet I could tell you the time of day within the minute without looking at a clock usually), and I don't have the patience for Cyan's special attack. They're both useless to me.

As far as personality...Edgar...man I hate that guy...so full of himself, and manipulative too...I just, I can't stand him.

Battle...easy Umaro...he's uncontrollable and it's irritating to me.

And finally statistically...Gogo...he/she/it had the potential to be a god...if only he/she/it's stats would grow!!

Arghh!

Wait one second man. I thought the whole lack of story behind GOGO was a good idea. Its much more interesting to guess what his storyline is about. but yea, i do wish they had one for em.

I'm going to say Locke.

I used to love Locke. He was cool!!! But that was like ten years ago. As I matured, I realized what Locke really is: A lucky-A** debonair playa-hater. Every nerdy guy has met a real life Locke and you hate him. He always gets the girl. Everybody loves him. It's just dang Locke all the dang time!

Uhh...yeah. But in battle he's only got steal and his crazy assortment of weapons, but everything not based of magic isn't of any real use. Of course, Locke has crappy magic power.

Outside of that...I guess Umaro. I mean, we all know Gogo is Gogo, but the real question is who's Umaro's real father? (PLEASE don't try and answer that question. It'll only make you stupid. Just laugh at it and move on.)

And yes, I did use 'playa-hater.'

In my last post, I forgot to mention Kefka. >.< He was a great villain, in the sense that he definitely made me want to bash his face in numerous times.

Although, I gotta admit, he did come up with some good lines. ("You all sound like chapters from a self-help book!", "Son of a submariner!")

Least favorite FFVI character? Good question. Probably Strago, since I haven't the patience for hunting down the lores.

I like Relm, simply because of her uber-magical goodness. Umaro makes the Fanatics' Tower a breeze, and he makes a fun tank in the multi-party dungeons, like the Phoenix Cave and Kefka's Tower. Granted, there isn't a story for him, though. Gogo, when properly used, can make the ultimate utility character. No story there, either, but he's very usable. Mog's a moogle, for heaven's sake. Then again, I'm a serious moogle fanboy...Pretty much everybody else has at least reasonably-developed stories, and everybody's got a use in battle. I'm not saying Strago is bad in any way, because i do like him...just not as much as everybody else, I guess.

LoL, what a long-winded way of not saying much at all.

hm, Terra has great magical power but her whininess gets a bit annoying sometimes. LOL EMO!

I like Locke's personality but he is probably the weakest in battle.

Banon gives me the megashits because one tentacle attack and he's DEAD and you have to start all over again. God that part was annoying...

And I don't like Celes at the moment because I named Terra after me and Locke after my boyfriend, and SHE'S TOTALLY STEALING MY MAN! *is an idiot*

I didn't really like any of the 'ending' characters - GoGo, Umaro, etc.

There's just no storyline around them - It felt like they were thrown in at the end of development, or something.

hmmm...im gonna have to say relm, strago, and setzer

Relms skills are interesting, I don't have a problem with her additude, but she comes weak and difficult to lvl up.

Strago would envolve searching fro the enemies who have the skill and also comes weak.

Setzer, though I love using him, dissapointed me. I first saw him and thought, "man is this gonna be good....WHAT!?!?!?! cards?????" and the dreaded slot machine skill, I don't like leaving my attack up to chance. but once you get further along, he becomes more useible, and the fixed dice are quite nice, unless it does jack squat...but he stil looks cool XD

oh and Kefka, though I think he is creepy and a good bad guy. he killed leo, who I realy wanted on my team...bastard *stabs*

I hated Kefka too cus he was a little you know....Gay.With his Gay laugh and his Gay clothes and his Gayness

Excuse me, but I find that very offencive, gayness is not an insult, by calling someone you don't like gay, you're insulting gay people, not them, I refused to be used as an insult

Anyway, on topic...

I never liked Strago.... Grumpy, ugly old men are overused, and Cyan bored me too

Why would you want Locke to outbalance other characters with his Mag Pwr stat? It wouldn't make good sense at all. And besides, Locke is full blooded human, and he isn't an esper or part of an esper. So your reasons for hating Locke aren't convincing.

Quote
Every nerdy guy has met a real life Locke and you hate him.
I don't.

Quote
He always gets the girl. Everybody loves him. It's just dang Locke all the dang time!
Isn't that a good thing for him? And do I smell jealousy?

Quote
The only other time Locke is fun to use is when you give him a Genji Glove with dual Hawk Eyes in Thamasa, but that's only because you have to use him. By that time he's quite under-leveled compared to the best characters, so once you get them all back there's no place for Locke in your party. Plus Hawk Eyes become obsolete after a little while, and I don't think there are any other thrown weapons miming the throw command in the game's collection of weapon for Locke.
That's not true. Locke's strongest weapon is the Valiant Knife and once you get him over 6000 HP he'll be one of the mightiest characters with simply the Valiant Knife in his hand. I know it gets stronger as his HP lessens, but once you surpass 6000 HP he's not really that useless physically at all. On the other hand, FFVI is already pretty easy, so why try to make an outbalanced party with muscle-heads like Shadow, Cyan, Sabin, and Edgar when you can challenge yourself with Gau, Strago, Relm, and Setzer?

If people care to know, each and every character has their own equal uses and merits. Outbalancing other characters because "OMG THEIR STATS SUCK ROFL ROFL ILL MAKE SHADOW THE FASTEST AND STRONGEST COMPARED TO LOCKE EWW HE SUX ROFL ROFL" is pretty retarted and you're an fool for doing so.

Gameplay wise, I think you're all crazy.

Locke is rediculously powerful, and can most easily deal 9999x8 damage.

Strago's Lore's are godly.

Gau's rages are godly.

Shadow's throw/skean's are great, plus he has a chance of dealing damage just by parrying an enemy.

Umaro is a great character, you just need to keep an eye on his health for him ;D

Relm's Control can be useful, and she has the only move in the game that can corrupt the game itself... how many game characters can do that?

Setzer's slots are fantastic, they saved me in an LLG and I love him forever for it.

And how in the world can you dislike Sabin's blitzes? Bum rush deals 9999 before other characters can touch 5000 biggrin.gif

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with you, however, that Cyan is horrible.

That's my two cents.

I think you should. You even have no VALID supporting reason to your opinion, so in my opinion, YOU suck.

Quote
strago- you suck and are useless....damn lores

YOU suck. Strago was kickass in the burning house.

Quote
relm- why not paint a picture of you doing something useful?
Because you don't know how to use Sketch. And she is able to cast powerful magic without using up MP through that command. She can even control enemies and like Locke_Cole said, which other characters could do that? (Other than Gogo)

Quote
setzer- you arent cool and abilities suck
Again, YOU suck. Setzer was quite good and he can use Bahamut with his Slot command, so I wouldn't understand your arrogance.

ROFL.

Nicely put NE-D.

Anway my least favorite in term of skills whould have to be Gau you loose control over him as soon as you pick his Rages. I'm not saying he totally sucks he just has IMO the worst of skills thats all. Myleats favorite story wise is "Kapa" but only 'couse he isn't part of the story.

Terra - I spent too many years reading fanfics to label her as anything other than a typical Mary-Sue. Ohmygod help me I'm pitiful! But a natural magic user! But still pitiful!

Cyan gets on my nerves too; he's too much of a typical knight.

I'm not far enough in to know many of the really annoying characters yet.
