I've never had over 6000. The closest I've came is 5840 and I forgot about the small light at the end (worth 200). Gutted!

At the moment, I'm trying to get 12 "1/35 Soldiers" to put in my swanky villa.

I've, never really been into doing the speed square....i.e. "I suck at it".
I think my record stands in the mid 3000s. My friend almost made it to 6000 (I think he made it to 5780 or something ridiculous)

Apparently you get Cid's true Ultimate Weapon if you get enough points on the Speed Square, although I also suck at it, and don't use Cid anyway.

Cid's ultimate weapon? Well I've got the "Flayer" for Cid maybe that's it. I thought it would be just as useless as Aeris' "Umbrella" you get in there too...

Thanks I'll try it out.

to be honest, i thought that Cids ultimate weapon was his Venus Gospel but i may be wrong. If it is the Flayer, i will have to get it. it sounds very good. I have ever got above about 3000 blush.gif

I'm almost certain that the flayer is not Cid's Ultimate Weapon. Being that the Ultimate's generally have their damages based on certain attributes beyond the basics (in this case Cid's MP).

Flayer is a good weapon, but
Flayer is not an Ultimate Weapon

Yes, but there is one that's stronger than Venus Gospel from the Speed Square, I'm sure of it. (It may not have the special damage effect of it, but it has more power.)

Ah nightmare Zeromus_X...

Flayer is good but yeah, the MP attribute of the Venus Gospel I suppose makes it special. However I'd say Flayer is better because you also get growth in the materia slots.

I must really be bad. I haven't even gotten up to 3000 points. My highest was a little over 2000, but granted I don't play the Speed Square nearly as often as the others (I rule in the Submarine mini-game and I don't even like subs).

Subs are awesome, especially turkey and ham on honey oat.

But seriously, they are.

But really, speaking of minigames in FFVII I was pleasantly surprised that they were in there to begin with my first time playing through, a really nice addition that made the game even more crazy and insane than one would be left to believe.

Honey oat? You damn Americans...

But on to more pressing matters, the mini-games are excellent oui. The Speed Square is not embraced as much as it should be. It only gives you a cheap little item mostly; but the great thing is, it's one of the few places in that game where your top score is recorded - so SHOW IT OFF!

Speed Square is too hard. And i'm not even a big fan of the game myself anyways....Although the graphics were pretty cool

Highest I've ever gotten was 5200, and i felt pretty good, getting Cid's flayer right at the beginning of Disk 2 was pretty sweet, yet damage wise Venus Gospel is better, I have never used MP on Cid at all, and since he always has full MP every attack does 9900+ damage.

I never really tried hard to do well on Speed Square. Venus Gospel works just fine for me, and I'd rather not waste my time, worthless though it may be. I tried it once or twice, though, and my high score was probably under 1500. Yeah, I'm that bad.
