So let's guess! (I don't believe they've announced anything yet, so meh.)
I'm hoping for some sort of Gambler, or maybe a Pictomancer. Although it'll probably be some power-job we have to do a side-quest for. Hm. *sigh* So many possibilities. ![]() -------------------- |

Programmer.

Gamblers are already tied in with Samurai - throwing money at least. I don't know enough about samurai tradition to understand that though. Pictomancers are tied into Trainers.
I think if they were to add any 'new' classes it would probably be something like the calculator. Well, Gamblers have Slots and Dice.
Alot of people are saying things like Dark Knight and Paladin, which would make sense. As long as they don't make some hybrid uber-class like Orlandu...><; -------------------- |

Two of Endless Saga's characters are, technically, programmer classes.
![]() What would be cool would either be sharpshooter (the firearms type, not the bow and arrow type) or mechanic/engineer. Those classes have existed in the past (well... present-past, not FFV-past) in the forms of Mustadio (FFT) and Edgar (FFVI.) -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Hmmm... Seriously, I'd be hoping for some of the classes mentioned thus far sans programmer ( Cos honestly, what can you do, be mistaken for a serial killer in an internet quiz?)
Mechanic would require a wrench or tools. Engineer would demand a red shirt and the ability to claim you "dinnae hae the pooer". Sharpshooter... or machine gunner. The last one would be rather nice. WAAAGH DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA. But seriously, so long as it has an AK, it'll make a fairly poor game over 300 times better. Classes I hope not to see... Karate Kommando, Pimp, Juggernaut B***h, Happycat, and other bizzare and stupid ones dreived from internet memes that have no point and are unlikely to happen even with the current Squenix trend to being as stupid as hell. Programmer? Machine gunner? No thanks. Lots of personal preferences bending the rules there.
I also don't think that a Paladin class is likely. I mean, you can already make a Paladin by giving a Knight !White, and even preserve the Knight's physical stats while giving it the magic boost. Why make an entirely new class? I'm hoping for some kind of engineer class, probably using Edgar-esque tools, explosives, and maybe a few firearms (but not only firearms). I'm really more concerned on where they're going to put it. A new dungeon? Bundled with the Earth Crystal classes? -------------------- |

I would want engineer to be put into FFV, it would be cool to bust out a chainsaw on some enemies
Hell they could even put in a blackbelt class that would use blitz and I'd be happy -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

They have monks, which are basically karate masters with hand-based attacks. How about Taekwondo martial artists, who'd have kick-based attacks?
But what we really need is... Salarymen! I can see it now, running around shouting "I'M LATE! SOMEONE FAX A MEMO!!" while bashing enemies with a briefcase and scattering scalding coffee over the battlefield... Damn man, how come it was never thought of by anyone? -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

That would be nice to see a Dark Knight class in FF5a. I wouldn't want Engineer because it doesn't seem like it could belong with the other jobs (especially because the crystals never gave you any technology related jobs).

As a realistic possibility, I'd say I'd want what laszlow suggested.
If not, maybe Gambler, or Dark Knight (complete with more attacks than just DarkWave). They've already pretty much covered everything really well, so I don't see much room for improvement in that respect. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. I'm not really sure on this new job thing (was something announced and I missed it?), but if they did put a new job in, the best one would probably be Gambler, like FFX-2's Lady Luck.

And because I now have a joke to make, I will also suggest the following character class:
serial killer. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! I use Mastodon, where I am @[email protected] ( https://sakurajima.moe/@glennmagusharvey ) |

The über-bard. Has half the HP as a bard, half the stats, hides at a higher percentage of HP than the regular bard, plays instruments like the jug, the washboard, and (of course) the spoons. Has a one-in-eight chance song that has a one-in-eight chance of wiping out all enemies.

Phone Caller.
He can call maids to clean stats *restore* and call the repair man to "repair" your health. He can call 911 to gun the people down or fire men to wash them away with the move Big Hose. And he can call friend to yell at the creatures "STOP BUGGING HIM/HER GOD!"which leads to a chance of them running away. Thats all for now... Maybe something relating to an Oracle type class? I dunno, I just see that whole green magic thing being prevalent with Squenix right now.

I think a mascot class would be pretty cool. Each character would have their own special class and finely be differentiated beyond name and gender. I suppose they could, or may, add a gambler class but personally I don't find that very interesting. Would be a waste of my time, since I've never been good at the slot functions they insist on putting in there.

Fine a real job.... Ranger
He can use Daggers and Bows. His abilities are : -Critical Strike: Increases Chance to land a Critical Strike. -Elemental Arrow: Adds a black magic attack to the arrow. -Speed Increase: Increases Speed by 10% -Speed Increase: Increases Speed by 20% -Speed Increase: Increases Speed by 30% -Rapid Fire: Fires multiple arrows dealing half damage.*amount of arrows are random* I still rather Silver Lances job or mine. l> -------------------- Kel'Thuzad: She is persistent. Edgemaster/Swordmaster: Can use SwordTechs and maybe even something like runic or an attack that instantly blocks an enemy blade. (looks like Zeigfried)
Rider: Mounted on a beast. Uses lances or swords. Special ability can be a dual attack from the rider and beast. (looks like a Rider or TestRider enemy from FFVI) just suggestions This post has been edited by Zantetsuken on 3rd July 2006 03:57 -------------------- In order to be politically correct, I am no longer a "White Person," I am a Caucasian-American. |
