Just a quick question. What is the calculation for damage with Everyone's Grudge? Because once it Cloud for 6650 and then it hit Tifa for 2500 and i was kind of confused to the calculation.

Hm, hard to say. I know everytime I got it, it killed whatever character it attacked, even at lvl 99 with full HP. Yet, I've heard many a time that it is not an instant-kill attack, so...I have no idea. How many HP did your characters have then?

wow I was thinking of posting the exact same topic cuz it confused me too.
It did 9999 to tifa on my game but only 1000 to Cid, and about 7000 to Cloud Might have something to do with level cuz on mine, Cid was lvl 76, Cloud was 92, and Tifa was 88 |

Simple.
Take the number of enemies killed by the target. Multiply it by ten. There's your damage. Edit: Very important typo. ^^; This post has been edited by Silverlance on 4th June 2006 21:34 -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Quote (fijianboy02 @ 4th June 2006 16:36) where did you figure that out? I've already gone through some files in the game and figured out their formats. I have a pretty extensive listing of enemy AI scripts sitting in my notes folder. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

And Vincent doesn't. Ow well nothing a slow and boring KOTR cant kill. -------------------- It takes 2 people and a weapon to commit a murder Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is mystery, today is a gift, thats why we call it the present. |

Quote (Zeromus_X @ 5th June 2006 03:14) Is it like this in all the FFs, or just VII? As far as I've seen, it follows the same structure in every FF game. Not the exact same formula, but a similar one (based on the enemies you kill). -------------------- Lou: There's a couple of guys fighting down at the aquarium, Chief. Quote (1ofakind @ 6th June 2006 22:30) I know a magician never gives away his (or her) secrets, but what do you use to analyze the scripts? A bit of trial and error, seeing as I'm not very fluent in PSX assembly. Most of my experience stems from 65816, 56k, and x86 assembly, so it's a good head start, but I never read any actual docs on the PSX so dumping the source is a very unreliable process. I'll often rely on an emulator's ability to dump debugging info and/or search through RAM in order to pilfer decompressed data and to try to figure out what gets loaded where. From that, I'll see if I can find anything in the source that would load data from there, which helps figuring out where that data is stored and/or in which file(s) I should look. After that, it's just basic ROM hacking... Tests are a little tedious to perform. Take a dump of the game, make some changes, and mount it using tools I won't name because their use may or may not be considered legal ( ![]() Because it's a tedious process I'll often just dump the RAM and sift through that for a bit until I find something that looks like what I'm looking for. Then I'll poke through a disassembly to try to find where it's loaded from. After that I'll play with the file in question as much as I can and only go through the lengthy and tedious ISO-building-and-mounting process if I'm totally stumped on something. I MUCH prefer to work with SNES ROMs. :x -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |
