There are four enemy skill materias to be found throughout the game.
The fourth can be found by the bed in one of the houses in the forgotten city (....if I recall) |

Who would take the time to even have/want 4 enemy skills?

Well, getting all four of 'em isn't really that tough. The hard part is MASTERING all four enemy skill materias. If I master the first one, and have most, if not all, abilities for the second one, I'll be very happy.

Quote (Myself-700 @ 25th May 2006 03:25) Well there are 4 of em (the 4th is not worth getting since your party size 3 maxed) its not totally useless...you need the fourth enemy skill materia for the Master Command materia (but I'm not sure if it has to be mastered or not) its been a while since I played ff7 (sadly), but I'm pretty sure I remember getting two enemy skill materias from the Chocobo Sage..if I remember correctly, then that makes it 5 enemy skills...but its been like a year since I played it so I could be mistaken This post has been edited by King of Chocobos on 27th May 2006 04:16 -------------------- kweh! |

Well. Perhaps it only works with certain enemy skills, but it does work with Pandora's Box

You're supposed to be able to learn the skill for all materias you have equipped. Technically you could kill off two characters and put all four on the same character in order to make sure you learn everything.
Another case like Pandora's Box is the Shadow Flare obtained through Ultimate Weapon: he uses it on the target killing him off. In this case, though, you can also learn it through dragon zombies, so it's not as hard to max out. I have heard of Pandora's Box being cast twice sometimes. A quick peek through my enemy AI dump reveals this is unlikely unless something outside of battle affects the variable which is set when casting this spell. The variable affected is a global variable, and not a local variable, meaning that it remains after battle and can be affected by other stuff. MAYBE there's a condition we're not aware of that can unset it. If you only learned skills from one materia, you might've been using a code that conflicted with the materia (999999 AP maybe?) or be suffering from faulty memory. Or, the final and most likely possibility, is because of an existing bug in the script which "learns" enemy skills: if one materia has it but the others don't, the skill will not be learned at all for any materia because one of them will register as having that skill already and the game will branch out of the "learn" routine. Quote Think about pandora's box. It the only e-skill used once in the game by dragon zombie! Am I playing a different FF7? I've played the game over 30 times and I master my enemy skill every time (Except the first time) my beef with this is, Dragon Zombies cast Pandora's Box on me all the time in the Final Crater, so am I reading this wrong or have my four different copies off FF7 that I've played on god knows how many machines all have glitches on them? If you master an Enemy Skill, does it 'create' another, or does it just fill up?

It just fills up, no Enemy skill will be born. But like the fourth enemy skill materia...that'd be kind of pointless to have a fifth, sith and so on. I only ever master one anyway. What use does 2 bring me? I'll never know because I get along just fine with one
