First off when Sephiroth takes Cloud back to Nibelhiem and Cloud is saying 'oh this is an illusion' Tifa never told him that he never showed up in Nibelhiem with Sephiroth and that it was in fact someone else. but why?

She says she 'wanted to watch him closely' but why would she let him go crazy thinking he's someone else? Was she doubting herself aswell?

Also Sephiroth says 'you were constructed from little pieces after the fire'. He's lying about this right? Since Cloud was just injected with Jenova cells in the tank at the bottom of the Shin-Ra mansion. Also he states that Cloud never really had a name, and he's not the real Cloud. So basically Sephiroth is telling him part truth and part lies? Or was Cloud really constucted from Hojo?

Seeing this, Sephiroth says, 'The ability to change ones looks, voice and words is the power of jenova.' But did Cloud change at all, except of course for the glow in his eyes?

And it was Cloud that killed Sephiroth in the reactor five years ago right? Since Hojo said Sephiroth died there. But it wasnt Zack since he got knocked out and Cloud went to save Tifa, just like he promised. And so therefore thats why when Cloud asks himself 'why didnt Sephiroth kill me?' It was because he really killed him.

hmm something to consider, please give me your input i just went through that whole part of the game today and it flustered me so yes.

Sephiroth believed Cloud to be like most of the other Jenova clones, which were in essence, created from scratch, from the burnt remains of Nibelhiem's corpses and survivors. Cloud and Zack, however, were still in whole condition and fine, so they got a seperate experiment done on them, that was supposed to yield the same results.

Sephiroth believed Cloud was simply implanted or given Zack's memories, since Sephiroth himself was no familiar with Cloud the soldier who was on the mission with him, it had been strictly Zack who was intimately familiar with him.

Sephiroth was simply telling Cloud the truth as he saw it, which was partially flawed, because he was infact the real Cloud, just with using someone else's memories.

Yeah, Cloud's memories at the well and such were real. You just don't find out about the real stuff like Tifa not really being his friend and such until the end. So yes, Sephiroth did die at the reactor and Cloud did kill him. However, his body fell into the Life Stream/Mako crap in the reactor and made its merry way to the Northern Continent.

And the reason Tifa never told Cloud what he was thinking was lie was because she didn't remember either. If you recall, she was gravely injured by Sephiroth and because of it her memories were skewed as well. There are subtle hints to it throughout the game, including in Gongaga at the mention of Zack.

Wow the more I read this topic the more I learn! Keep it up.

I never really understood how Cloud killed Sephiroth. Was it just out of pure emotion?

I think so. Because like we were discussing in the Wutai topic...Sephiroth is inhuman to a sense but there is still a part of him that is human. Humans make mistakes, especially when you think no one is capable of causing even a scratch on you. It's kind of like the lady getting the strength to lift a car off her baby. In my opinion at least. Cloud was enraged so he very well could've caught Sephiroth off guard while he was swooning.
