The Wii "zapper" controller has serious issues with halogen lighting.

This is something that hopefully will be corrected in development. I don't see it being a problem in homes, but in gaming stores where they will be on display, the problem would be glaringly obvious.

If Halogen lights are the kind that are in stores, then it's not a problem for me personally. But if the problems not fixed, the uninformed gamer might think after trying it in the store, "WTF! This think doesn't work, it's like as much of a gimick as the Eyetoy! Screw this, I'm getting a PS3" So Nintendo betterwork on that problem, or some customers might turn away.

While the zapper controller interests me, I don't see it being the driving force behind the Wii. Of course, I could (and probably am) wrong. I think it's a step in the right direction for videogames, though, because it's another step towards photographic-realism virtual reality games.

I like the word-play regarding the topic's title. I'm not worried though, I live by candle-light and the burning of literature. That's probably something that's (hopefully) going to be fixed before the thing is released, otherwise that has bad pub written all over it.

EDIT: Graaaammar
