Does anyone have some tactics to beat Ruby weapon because i have never beat it *bows head in shame* but i can beat emerald weapon(?!),maybe it's because of whirlsand and Ruby's super high defence. If someone could post some videos of ruby weapon battles if possible that would be helpful. Try not to include any *super* materia(KotR,counter/mime etc.).

Ah excellent I love these topics!

Well you could use Cait Sith with Slots if you're good enough to get three cats - that'll kill him in one hit.

Or just use luck 7s with Cloud at the beginning of the fight, then Omnislash from then onwards. Use hero drinks (use W-Item if you must) to constantly jack up Cloud's stats. You can make your characters do this at the start of the fight before they're taken away.

But seriously... he's not that hard.

As far as whirlsand is concerned, you could always kill your other two party members before the battle begins.

Hades will stop Ruby....

As will the "Dazers" item. I'm not sure if Stop does or not...

I'd recommend just using your other two character to heal/hero drink/barrier Cloud until they're taken away.

use phoenix you may say this is dumb since it heal ruby weapon but it also ressurects ypur party member. you can attack him then without the whirlsands taking off your members of your party since his hands are in the ground

hades does not use the stop effect he paralyzes the enemy for a while, use dazers on his tentacles because they cause slow- numb or if you cant get dazers get ribbons these will prevent some of the little effects on your characters

Ruby can still use Quicksand; but not always. (Some people are lucky.)

Mine would be to die..... Badly.... Cloud trashed with that quicksand attack and the rest with one multi-hit physical attack....

I didn't even get an attack.... ;.;

A bit late for this, I suppose, but oh well. I used W-Summon with Hades and KOtR and just mimed it again and again. Final Attack+Phoenix helps a ton, even if it does heal him a tiny, insignificant bit. I wouldn't use dazers; you use one on him, and by the time you can attack again, he's out of stop status and does rather evil things to your part members. I only had one ribbon when I did it, but I used Jem Ring and Safety Bit on the other two characters, I think, to keep the tentacles from petrifying/whatever that was they did to me. Hope that helps...someone eh.gif

Same for me. Although, I've always wanted to try something this and this videos, with 4x Cut and everything. (KOR takes too damn long to justify it's 100k+ damage.)

well my method was very similiar to the second link, a lot of counter attacks, mime highwind (didn't really need hero drinks already maxed out his stats), his high luck and speed help out a lot. I wish I had a filmed it so I could show it off.

Nice tactic and don't worry it's not too late

Hero Drinks increase stats beyond 255. If you've got time, keep using them. Eventually the fight becomes a piss-take (excuse the language but there's no other word).

I found a pretty good but long tactic that i use.

Setup: Cloud Lv 92
Equipped with Ragnorak,Mystile and Ribbon.
Other 2 teamates KO'ed.

Materia Setup:2 Hp Plus Materia 5 stars, 2 Speed Plus Materia 5 Stars, 1 Counter Materia 5 Stars, 1 Mime Materia 2 Stars, 2 Luck Plus Materia 5 Stars, 2 Speed Plus Materia 5 Stars, 1 Double Cut Materia 3 Stars and 1 W-Item Materia 2 Stars.

Items used:Approximately 6 Hero Drinks and 6 Elixirs.

1)Start with Cloud with full Limit break but first use a Hero Drink and an Elixir, then keep miming it until you have mimed about 5-10 Hero Drinks.

2)Then Kill the Tentacles with Omnislash and then keep miming it until you need to heal using a hero drink and an elixir.

3)Repeat the first 2 steps until Ruby dies.

It took me approximately 25 minutes to win doing this tactic.

How much damage is inflicted when you do that?

Well if you only have 2 Hero Drinks, then you could always multiply your stock using the W-Item trick. I'm sure if you use the CoN guide on this site, then it'll give you the locations of any Hero Drinks that are available in the game.
