Although I may have wasted more of my life on Final Fantasy, Castlevania is probably my favorite video game series of all time, closely followed by FF, Mega Man, and Zelda (a series means three or more games, by the way...).

So, we know this series has been quality since the beginning, which ones are your favorites? Belmonts represent!

1. Symphony of the Night (PS1)
2. Circle of the Moon (GBA)
3. III: Dracula's Curse (NES)
4. Aria of Sorrow (GBA)
5. Bloodlines (Genesis)

Never played any of the newer ones (past SNES).

But, I LOVED Simon's Quest. I would become absorbed in that game for hours and never tire of it.

It's too bad you've only played up through Super IV (I assume?). Video games don't get much better than Symphony of the Night.

I enjoyed Symphony of the Night, even though humans should realize that there is no true way to kill Dracula, he keeps coming back...

Currently playing Aria of Sorrow which im enjoying immensley..

If I had to choose a favourite I'd have to go for Symphony of the night for the
all-round gaming experience, but i did enjoy IV on the SNES for its superb atmosphere and music.

Castlevania III all the way. Sypha was easily the best character (the homing magic, anyone?), but srsly the best person to kick Dracula's ass with is definitely the Belmont (Trevor, IIRC).

Castlevania 4 for the SNES. SO Many hours of my youth were spent in front of that game and SO many hours were spent not beating it. I beat it when I was like 11 after having it for like 6 years. Awesome game and it remains the only Castlevania I'll play.

Maybe if they just go inside Dracula and destroy the thing that keeps resummoning him...

But seriously I'd say my favorite would have to be Super Castlevania 4.

From the ones I've played Symphony of the Night is by far the best followed by Castlevania III for the multiple paths.

Castlevania 4 for the SNES... Awesome game and it remains the only Castlevania I'll play.

Care to share why?

Of the ones that I've played:

Aria of Sorrow
Harmony of Dissonance
Circle of the Moon
Simon's Quest
Original

I've only played a small portion of Super Castlevania IV (which is a remake of the origanal btw), and unfortunetly, I've never plyed SotN though I've heard so much good about it. sad.gif

I think when I made this topic last year I was playing Bloodlines at the time and thought it was crazy-awesome, but since then I guess I've rethunk it. My favorites are Symphony, Circle, Aria, III DC, Super IV, and maybe Rondo of Blood (I've only played small portions of that game, though.

Castlevania IV - awesome in every way.

Just recieved ROM's of III and Super IV.

Fun.

III is pretty fun. I've only gotten to the first crossroads, (I decided not to go through the clock tower for some reason. Can't wait untill I get my first character. I'm hoping Sypha comes first, though Alucard would be cool too.

IV has excellent music for the SNES, and it's nice to actually be able to move in mid jump thumbup.gif

You're only allowed to get one secondary character. You pick up Grant in the clock tower, you pick up Sypha in the forest, and you pick up Alucard in the underground cavern. If you want to get Sypha, then on the second crossroads stay forward instead of going down the stairs.

Symphony of the night (though I lost my copy twi years ago... pinch.gif ), I love the idea of collecting souls, so a tie between aria and dawn of sorrow.
