Found this video, and decided to upload it. And naturally, share it with everyone else, since I'm an FFT n00b. Anyway, is this thing legit? And is it really hard to do? Just curious.

Why wouldn't it be legit?

Another way of doing this would be by boosting your speed to insane levels with yell and using knight skills to drop his to zilch. I forgot if he can counter, but a long-ranged weapon would deal with that.

More disturbing is the fact that he does that in about three minutes. Christ.

I didn't make this video, someone else did. (I'm not good at all at tactics games.)

Well, it's not quite three minutes, I don't think. Judging from the pace of the animation and the music, it seems to be running at about 1.5 to 2x normal speed - which makes sense, better to get the video in a shorter format to get people to stay interested.

Whether it's legit or not - well, yes and no, I think. It's theoretically possible, but it seems more likely that this was the result of a carefully configured save game as result of an editor than if it was done solely by way of gameplay. Could always ask the guy who did it, looks like he left more than enough info to track him down.

Yeah, it's definitely sped up so it wouldn't be so big.

Hmm, any other FFT videos floating around out there in the inter-web? If I can't play it, watching some clip highlights would be the next best thing.

This definetly screams gameshark to me. And trust me, I've experimented with just about everything it can do. Sure, its possible to legitimatly have Ramza at level 1 at this point, but as far as I know, you have to gain experience to gain JP. Did anyone else notice all the jobs and abilities he had? Im going to say that this isn't feasible.

It's very feasible using the level down trick to keep ramza at a level one. There is no reason why you shouldn't master as many jobs as you can in a low level game, just make sure to use the degenerator to insure a low level.

This is a webcomic and gaming blog where I rant about nonsense. Enjoy.

Well, I don't think that using the level up level down trick is exactly legit. But, if someone really wanted to not gain XP and still gain JP, they could have used other characters to gain all the JP and rely on the 1/4 JP gain.

It's a cool video, but nothing I don't think is particularly impressive. Chameleon Robe preventing Holy Sword techs., Float to prevent Earth Slash, Speed boosts, and tricking the AI to attack his back to activate Hamedo are well known. He/She just spent some time to set it up for our viewing pleasure

i assumed this was done with the level down trick when i watched it. sure, it's probably possible to the 1/4 jp thing, but who in the hell has the time or the patience for that?

If there's a leveling down trick (i know NOTHING about glitches for fft), I was curious how a level one would manage to master a calculator. But aparently they worked this out to amaze a couple of geeks (talk about a waste of time...)

not that difficult really, once you're level 99, you just find traps all over the place that level you down. and if you change into a class with low stat growth, go back up, and come back down a few times - you'll have a character that pawns the rest of the game. he just went down to level one, and stayed there.

Well you could actually do it rather fast, have a group of characters all the same class with gain jp up, have everyone you don't mind leveling up beat up, and heal, each other.
Ramza would gain vast amounts of JP, although I think this guy used a level down (which shouldn't count as a trick or glitch because the creators made the game that way.)

this guy knows FFT very well
