So, I'm about to go into the tower and such. I'm thinkin' about doing the easy method of things by using one group to plow through bosses, then switch them. Do I still need to train my second group for the tower? And who should I use? My main strong guys are Locke, Sabin, Edgar, and Celes.

If you want to be anal, I'd suggest killing the Statue there with Strago in your party, so he can learn each one's special Lore. (And warping out and putting him in the next party, and for each statue.) Otherwise, it's just up to personal preference, and possibly CoN's nifty walkthrough. (But if you have Ultima, then you don't really need much advise. ^^; )
Levels aren't that important, Magic is. I'd suggest going to Maranda and killing the Cactuars in the desert south of there, and raking in the Magic Points. Still, if you want to level, the tower itself and the Dinosaur forest is a good bet. The Ancient Castle is also good, but there arent' alot of bad places, at least to me. And yeah, if you have Ultima..then...yeah. Good Magics, that I always used: Life2 Life 3 Cure 3 Haste 2 Ultima* *Yes. Chances are, if you've recruited everybody, and gotten all the tasty weapons and items along the way, you're pretty set. But take some time for people to at least get those spells, I found them useful above all else. ![]() -------------------- |

Life 3 is a MUST, as Sleep uses Calmness when he dies, which is an Instant Death attack which ignores Safety Bit. -CSM

Momento Ring seems to work. Meh.

The Memento Ring doesn't work. Calmness can be pretty easily blocked, but it *does* ignore the ID immunity Memento Rings (and Safety Bits) provide.

Clear and Image also work, but Clear is unreliable and Image is hard to get without Fenrir or Shadow. There are similar attacks to Calmness used by monsters such as Outsider (Ruin) and Retianer (Tradeoff) that ignore immunity. -CSM

Seriously? Well, it's definitely worked for me before, though it's probably something else. Calmness just skipped around until it hit someone it could kill.

Probably MBlock. Calmness is sometimes used twice. And even though it ignores ID immunity, it is not unblockable, and it does not ignore Stamina check. -CSM

Oh, well now I remember. I had already put Life 3 on everyone to see if I could avoid that attack, and it kept going until it killed someone, after they got revived. I think eventually it just 'gave up', and then the sleeping dude died. Or someone did die...well, I don't really remember. But yeah, the relics don't do anything, it was Life 3.

Instant Death Specials such as Calmness do NOT take Stamina into account.

You can't Vanish/Doom Kefka and you can't throw the Atma Weapon. Come on people, get it together a little!

Make sure you got someone hooked up with 9999 hps, offering/gengi glove, Atma Weapon and Excalibur or something else, and make sure thats edgar, because he owns. Make sure also you have another worthwhile character or 3 to back up any mistake you may make. Life 3 is a must! Calmness ignores any and all ID preventers. Trust me, I've played enough to know. This is my favorite FF, so please take these points into consideration.
