Y'know, the ballad that serves as a sorta theme song for the game. These are all of the ones I can really think of, so...meh.
I personally can't decide. They're all genuinely purty, but I don't really think any of them particularly shine, either. They all seem to fulfill the purpose of portraying the basic theme of the story though, so meh. -------------------- |

Out of those five choices, I only played VIII and IX. I prefer VIII. Eyes on Me is one of the most charming and romantic songs I've heard. Melodies of Life was decent aswell.

It's between Eyes On Me and Melodies of Life. Both are great songs.

Personally, I prefer Suteki da ne, either because of my short memory that made me forget all the songs or because it is really the song I prefer. At least there's a 50% chance that it's my favorite.

"Eyes On Me" is my vote. I think it's a great ballad.

I have a soft spot for "Suteki Da Ne"... but for some reason I really like "1000 Words" too...

Melodies of Life by far. It just fits the FFIX mood very well. -CSM

Melodies of life. I haven't heard the FFXII one yet. Melodies of life brings back good memories of FFIX whereas Eyes on me just brings me back a load of painful FFVIII memories haha..

I null voted.
The instrumental piece from FFX titled Zanarkand is my favorite. So much so that I tried to have it played at my wedding, but the misses wouldn't go for it. It's a beautiful piano piece, that reminds me a great deal of Pachabel's Canon in D. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

I hate all those songs except for "Melodies of Life," which I find to be strangely gorgeous. Better in the Japanese vocal than the alternatives, but the pure instrumental part is very nice as well. They're all kind of two-person, romantically geared songs, but "Melodies" kind of transcended that boring niche and branched out to be about all life.
Part of my roleplaying tics is that I hate weak/banal phrasing, so maybe that's why I always prefer the Japanese versions. Can't understand what they're saying and can just focus on timbre and tonality. ![]() -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |
