Indeed Start does toggle between mini map and no map, not big map (you were thinking of FFVII+).

he could be playing it in ROM so make sure Transparency is set on otherwise it wont completely show. Type 9 when you're using SNES9x and I can't remember for ZSNES.

yea, the first ZSNES i used did show the map, ehtier. so i suggest getting updated ZNES program
