I've always thought that the Geomancer job was the coolest class offered. It is disappointing that it isn't more useful. I'd love to mix earth magic with a decent physical attack.

Eh...I'm gonna have to run with Chemist or Mediator. These most suit my personality, and my actuall profession(Chemical Operations, US Army) So yeah...besides, chemists and mediators use guns.

I cant pick just one....
The reason I like this game so much is because there are so many choices to make, skills and classes to mix and match and master. If i had to Pick a singular Generic Job, It would have to be: Monk. A wide range of skills from Healing, Curing, Ressurection, to Status Effects, Ranged and point-blank attacks, With Great reaction ablilities to back them up? whats not to love? As far as Special job classes go, I guess I would go with the Temple Knight. Just because I have a Love for Status Magic, and Being able to cast it instantly is a real plus ![]() -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |

calculators- if you can master them, and you master every other magic, they can totally kick
Dragoons- heck, they're just awesome summoners- anyone who can summon Odin is sweet priests- for some reason, i like how the holy people in RPGs have that one awesome attack that they use to kill everyone. Holy does that. Holy Nights- See above, but every attack is cool. Dancer/Bard- i know, i know, some think that these guys are lame. But they gain job points fast, so its easy to master every job. Also, putting them together, making a dancer do slow dance and a bard do cheer song, and you can dominate the field -------------------- Can you pull down the dawn? for generics id have to go with the dancer. a full team of dancers can reak havok if used properly, although battles do take a while. IMO there one of the best teams besides the quickening.

Monks. Monks own everything in their path. Ramza or Reis (lvl 99)+Two Swords+Monk+Power Sleeve+Bracer+Counter+96 Brave = instantaneous execution for everyone that comes at melee range. 999 damage x 2. Even generics at lvl 99 can do -+500 damage like this.

I'd say the Calculator, since they can practically wipe a whole entire team without even getting near them, Especially if you have a Wizard/Priest/Oracle in conjunction with Math Skill.

Dudes, Monks are the way to go...
I wouldn't chose any generic titles, just a monk. That's what I'd be, using my fists do the talking. I wouldn't hide behind a sword of a staff, I'd use my bare knuckles to kick a$$. Plus, you can heal yourself with Stigma Magic and Chakra, use the ancient might of spiritual power, Wave Fist, Repeating Fist, Spin Fist. It's sick. Don't mess with a monk. -------------------- We, who cannot see into tomorrow, have no way of knowing... But... But... Not really, just have the ability Float to prevent the Monk's Earth Slash from hitting the Black Mage/Calculator, then I can either cast a status effect or just simply use my magic at will also hit you from anywhere on the board regardless how far away my unit is from you. Monks are good, I'm not trying to put them down in any particular way though they do have there weaknesses.

There's no better class than Theif, which I always felt
was closer to being a merchant than the Chemist ever was (after all, the Chemist doesn't just give away ex- pensive items for free--she throws them to you from across the battlefield!). Thieves are your coolest class because we're just as well-off as you--to an exact, actually. And the richer our party or the crowd, the richer I, I mean *we*, are. I'll charm you with my StealHeart (because with enough CHA, you can do anyone, I mean anything). I'm big into sharing, and with Steal(Helmet,Armor,Shield,Weapon, Accessory), so are you and everyone around us. And with StealExperience, let your fears be forgotten and lost, or at least pocketed away. Your mind will be at ease, since my swift-tongued and unceasing conversa tion will keep your mind off whatever ails you. All part of the service, as it were. In terms of abilities, Caution means us Theives are able to react fast and be ready for more. Catch is largely unnecessary, since so many items seem to fall into my pockets or hands without my realizing anyway. With SecretHunt, our fashions won't muster past PETA but at least we'll be blingin. And with Move+2 and Jump+2, I'm literally just a hop, skip, and jump away from helping everyone. So really, why *wouldn't* you join our ranks, in the brethren of the midnight highways, safe above the city with treasure literally at our feet? -------------------- Putting the A's in W lm rt: A11smart, Jobclass: Retailer. |

Standard Class: Samurai is probably the best all around character IMO, but the summoner and the calculator are pretty powerful as well.
Special Class: (excluding Holy Swordsman and Lune Knight) I might like to try out the Arc Knight with the Destroy Sword skillset. Then again, A11smart makes a good argument. This post has been edited by BT4X on 3rd July 2006 03:35 |

Quote (Starsoul-klr @ 6th July 2006 16:07) Samurai(Blade Grasp, what else?) Maybe the fact that they have arguably THE best generic skillset in the game? Draw Out is quite fun. ^^ |

Dragoons. They can pretty much own every boss in the game, If you know how to time the jump, no enemy can survive.

Favorite Magic Class (Generic)
![]() Favorite Physical Class (Generic) ![]() Favorite Physical Class (Special) The Holy Swordsman's "All Swordskill" is so powerful that you feel like you're cheating. It combines the sword-wielding might of the Holy Knight, Divine Knight, and Dark Knight. It can equip almost anything. The only disadvantage is that like all special classes (that you can control), it has the Squire's reaction, support, and movement abilities. Now if only it could use the Magic Sword skills.... Favorite Magic Class (Special) The Ultima Demon's "Night Magic" has five godly spells, including Ultima (which Ramza can learn in Chapter 4 as a Squire). -------------------- The world before the fall...
