Upon receiving Command and Conquer: The First Decade, just over 2 weeks ago, i haven't played much else. It has all 12 games on on disc (9.2 Gigabytes for all of them, mind you). Totally worth it. Online play for most of them as well
![]() At the moment, mine is Renegade. The Solo missions are fun, but challenging, and online play is probably the most fun i've had playing multiplayer anything for a long time. So are you an original C&C fan, or do you prefer the newer installments? |

I loved Red Alert. To be precise, Red Alert Retaliation on Playstation, so I voted for RA+Addons. Tiberian Sun is a good game, but lacking in Tanks and feels too skirmishy. RA2 had units that died too easily and was oddly enough itself a bit too easy. Plus, Kirovs and the like are nowhere near as much fun as MIG's and Hinds.

My favorite is Red Alert 2. I have had that game for 3 years and I still play it at least once a week. The online play is also very fun for this game.

The first command and conquer is a total classic, and I almost voted for that, but went for Red Alert instead, as the story is almost as good but the gameplay still kinda holds up even today and the multiplayer was always a great laugh. Total carnage everywhere, you had to love it.
Always remember, chinook helicopters don't turn up on radar. Take advantage of this. Oh how I was hated for this, hehehehe. Your opponent attacks your base with a huge amount of tanks, you take some nasty damage.... but then they realise they don't actually have a base at all after their attack, doh! Oh yes, you have to watch out for Tanya. But the game is ruined if it just becomes, 'who can build heavy tanks faster.' That's not strategy any more. Generals is good fun, but it's pants online. All these idiots that call everyone n00000b every 5 seconds. Very sad indeed. But I guess you can say that about quite a few online games. Best to play against your mates I say! Quote (Del S @ 15th March 2006 21:11) I loved Red Alert. To be precise, Red Alert Retaliation on Playstation I bought Red Alert Retaliation for the Playstation, my only beef with it was it was WAY too slow, I could be playing one mission for hours just because how slow it got ![]() Anyway, I own RA, RA2 + expansion, Tiberian Sun + expansion and Renegade, And id have to say I like Red Alert The best, I dont know Why, Maybe I'm just used to it ![]() RA2 Was fun also, But I havent been able to find a good map editor like the one That came with RA, Also ive been having problems trying to get RA to work on this Machine for some reason (even when I put it in Win95 compatibility mode ![]() -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |

Red Alert, hands down.
C&C was great, but for me it felt a bit slow, mainly because of the credit gaining method... I loathed how credits came in piece by piece. Also, the unit movement felt a little slow to me, especially the vehicles. Overall though, I enjoyed this one. Red Alert, by far, was the best one. I liked the storyline much better then the original's, and the gameplay, to me, was more "active" and "quicker". I also liked the fact that the game was perfectly balanced between Soviets and Allies. And then there's Tanya and Volkov, and the superweapons... this game, along with RPGs, is what I spent the vast majority of my childhood playing ![]() Tiberian Sun felt too much like the original. RA2 was also a great game. I loved how you could garrison units into buildings, I used to garrison every single building in the city and then sit backa laugh as my opponent's armies were utterly killed! The missions were, in my opinion, better than RA's. They were actually in real places, not in the middle of nowhere. Besides, who can argue with Soviets vs Yuri on the moon??? However, RA2 was way too easy, especially when compared with the original. Like Del S said, the units would die way too quickly, so you had to make a whole ton of them so that they could be effective. Also, the addition of Yuri's faction completely unbalanced the game, since all you had to do was mind control everyone for victory. Overall though, I probably enjoyed this one almost as much as Red Alert itself. -------------------- Music is a mysterious thing... Sometimes, it makes people remember things that they do not expect.
