I liked Mickey Mouse's Magical Kingdom (I think that's what it was called, been a while) on NES.  I've never managed to beat it, even when cheating.

Do you possibly mean Adventures in the Magic Kingdom or Mickey's Mousecapades, both for NES?

To clarify, Adventures in the Magic Kingdom is when you travel 'round Disney World (Land?) riding rides (like Space Mountain), answering Disney-based trivia questions to rescue Pluto, traversing through a hunted house, rescuing damels in the Pirates of the Caribbean (I think?) area, and racing stock cars, etc.

Mickey's Mousecapades features you (as Mickey) and Minnie (as Micky's... err... poorly AI-controlled tag-along) venturing through several different locales like a playhouse (1st level), an ocean and beach, the forest maze and I think a quintessential haunted house/castle level.

I loved both of those games back when, which is also very shameful to me...

The NES game that rocked my world the most was... a pinball game. sad.gif

In my defense, it was and still is without a doubt unparalleled by any other pinball game. There have been a few attempts to recreate Pinball Quest's most excellent RPG mode, but all (particularly Nintendo's most heineous GBA attempts) have failed.

Also, I actually enjoyed the Megaman Zero series throughoutly (but secretly hoped that after the final one, Capcom truly was going to conclude the series and seal the Megaman label. Maybe there's shame in being as naïve as that, too.)

Mine is simple...

When I play tactics, I read all the lines..with a british/irish accent depending on alignment and where they are from.

I know...but whatever, it is entertaining.

This is a webcomic and gaming blog where I rant about nonsense. Enjoy.

I was a soldier, now I just play one in video games.

Yes! That's the one... There might have been a haunted house, but I don't believe I ever got that far.

I am a physically and psychologically healthy straight male who loves the Harvest Moon series by Natsume. Sometimes I get crap from other guys about it, but I'm a diehard fan - it's possibly my favorite RPG/Sim series of all time.. The gameplay is captivating, the environment is well-constructed, the characters are interesting, and the atmosphere is just charming. So what if there's no violence? So what if the most recent release is titled "Magical Melody"? I love Harvest Moon, and come to think of it, I'm not ashamed of it at all. In fact, I'm going to go play Magical Melody right now.

In addition, I have actually played the SNES game Shaq-fu, on the original console. The horror of that experience has left a spot on my conscience too dark and deep to erase.
