I beat Earthbound Zero, so now I'm playing Mario RPG, Fire Emblem Blazing Sword and Sword of Seals, and Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance.

I'm playing FFI,II,V,VI, and VII. I bought FFV and FFVI last weekend and am enjoying these two great FF games. I've also been playing more of Smackdown Vs. Raw, MK: Deception, and Diablo II.

I have a couple of FF I games on hold at the moment (single black mage, and two BMs/ two WMs). I have three SCCs going on FFV, also on hold for the time being (4 Thieves, 4 black mage, 4 Knights). Still working on that 100% completion for FF X-2.

Right NOW, I'm using my Snes emulator and am playing FF MQ, Arcana, Super Mario RPG. I also downloaded a GBA emulator and have been playing around with FF IV and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, for a bit.

This is the second-to-last day of spring break for me, and probably also was the most boring spring break ever - summer job hunting, housework, yardwork, and three days with a stomach virus. Still, I had some gaming time with two birthday presents.

Mega Man X Collection is awesome - the three ported SNES games are remarkably well-preserved, with only a few soundbite and timing-related differences from the originals. The PS1 ports are even better than before, with X4 and X5 getting noticeably better load times, at the small price of some not-as-cool save screens. Gamefaqs tells me that I have to beat all three SNES games on the collection to unlock Mega Man Battle and Chase, so I have some work to do (I beat X1 for probably the fortieth time the day I started playing it, but I haven't touched X2 or X3).

OK, forget what I said about the SNES games being well-preserved. X1 and X2 are great, but X3 is actually a port of the PS1 port of the game, and it's painful. All of the music is now half-assed remixes of the original tunes, using what appears to be X4's sample library, the opening level scene and all of the boss intro scenes have been replaced by low-quality anime cutscenes, and the sound effects are a mess. I'm still not hating it, because I love X3 to death, but I was really disappointed in this particular port - they also don't give you the option of going back to the original the way Mega Man Anniversary Collection did.

The Tales of Phantasia port on the GBA is sort of less impressive - the SNES version doesn't have as colorful battle graphics, but the GBA version plays slower and has a translation that's decent at best (much to my annoyance, you can't change character names in the GBA version, so I'm stuck with Claus instead of Klarth). Still, I'm enjoying it, even if it's my third playthrough of the game. I'm only just about to take on the Morlia/Moria Gallery in the Past, by the way.

right now, the only game spinning in my console(i twisted this into an inuendo as i typed it) right now is LoZ: OoT Master Quest. having to re-think all of the puzzles is pretty refreshing. much more than i thought it would be.

Only game I'm working on at the moment is the GBA upgrade of Tales of Phantasia (not sure if it's a port of the PSX pseudo-remake or a stand alone version).

I agree with most of laszlow's points in comparison to the SNES game; the character sprites are better detailed and at least match up with their status portraits this time 'round, and the added scenes and dialogue (also present in the PSX version, I believe, along with the cooking system replacing the food bag) help flesh out the story despite the script seeming rather rushed and off at times.

Perhaps my biggest pet peeve relates to the menus: The layout and navigation doesn't feel as flawless as before, and a few things are either missing or can only be viewed in a separate menu box by pressing 'start' at the initial menu screen. Finally, the skills menu coulda benefited a lot by creating a larger distinction between 'white/selected' and 'greyed-out/unselected' skills. Maybe it's just my DS screen (don't have a GBA), but I have to tilt it into a sharp, forward angle in order to properly see if a skill/spell name is lit up or not.

Ignoring those few new shortcomings, it's still my favorite Tales game and as such this port has been very enjoyable overall.

Golden Sun! I may have to buy both games again! (Such, drool-tastic games! And I just found out Sakuruba did the music, which explains why I thought it sounded like Star Ocean.)

FFV, VI, VIII. Just finished IX again. (May get to Ozma this time.)

And found out that you get more experience by killing things alone instead of with the whole party on FFIV. (Hits self on the head.) With Ribbon and Hero's Shield, Cecil is pretty darn unstoppable. He's at level 80 now, and climbing higher.

And still trying to kill Freya on Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. 20,000,000 HP just doesn't dissapear y'know

I'm playing FF7 right now for the 3rd time, I haven't finished it yet because the first time I had to return it, the second time my sister deleted the data on the final battle, and currently i'm doing some last minute cheats before the final battle. After i finish it, i will play it again for all sidequests and weapons, and then i will start on FF8 or FF9.

I know I've been Final Fantasy XII too long - just the other day I referred to a region with no cell service as a Jagd!

well i had to take a break from FFIIIj, no characters seem tog ive hints as to whaere i'm supposed to go.

Well, I've been playing mostly multiplayer games recently, with the university gamers' club having its year-end tournaments and all.

Soul Calibur III: I made it to the final four of the tourney last semester, and I am determined to equal that feat at the very least. I can put on a pretty mean Mitsu, and I've recently taken up Taki as my number 2, as she seems to kick more ass than usual in this particular sequel.

Pac-man Vs: Multiplayer Pac-man. I really can't emphasize how much fun this game is to play. Ghost-baiting, fruit-camping, cornering, you'd be surprised at the hilarious "depth" of strategy we've devised for the thing.

Naruto Taisen 4: This game is awesome. Even if you don't know/like Naruto, you can appreciate the depth of the one on one tag matches and the crazy fun derived from four-player rumbles. It's a shame that Taisen 1 blows goats and it's the only game in the series released in the US. For me, it's all about Tsunade: solid combo damage plus a healing super.

Updateing since its been a while currently i am replaying the following

Pokemon blue version: This was my first game boy game i ever got and was the sole reason i got a gameboy. Ah the memories of this game.

Pokemon gold: Had to start my file over since the data some how became corrupt. Fortunatly i was able to trade my pokemon over to stadium 2 before it happened

KINGDOM HEARTS 2!!!! I'm loving this game, all my waiting has paid off and i have to say i am very pleased with the results of the wait.

Why is it that rpg's are now a dying breed?

I've been working on two titles lately:

The first is Kingdom Hearts II, of which I've been playing off and on since its release. As I mentioned recently in another thread, I've been rather disappointed thus far, hence my inability to remain devoted to it for even close to lengthy sittings.

The other game, Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (one I also bought the day of its release, which just so happened to be the same date as KHII's), I've concentrated on nearly nonstop - that is, during my free time (the unfortunate overabundance that there is). I'm happy at how similar it is to the old-school HMs, namely Harvest Moon (SNES) and Harvest Moon 64. What's exceptional is the fact that you can finally choose your gender, buy unlimited livestock (including horses this time, and they even got 'round to letting ya raise pigs!), have a rival farm and farmer to compete against, can participate in festivals once again (and they aren't merely scenes like in A Wonderful Life) such as the egg festival, horse races, etc.; you can choose the location for your ranch and expand it by purchasing property and the like, and can even mold friendships with the wild animals of the forest and in surrounding environments!

Several old faces from past HMs dwell within the valley that makes up Flower Bud Village, too. Needless to say, this is one enjoyable and frankly refreshing game, especially following the lack of traditional HMs in the past few years. If any CoNer fans haven't yet, I highly suggest picking up this awesome game.

I was a soldier, now I just play one in video games.

I'm back home from school now, and I'm back to playing games again. Here's what I've been playing:

Final Fantasy V - It's going painfully slowly right now, but this time I'm determined to do it right. Right now I just recently finished the forked tower in the third world.

Dark Cloud 2 - I haven't played this game in over a year, and right now I'm replaying some old stages to get the hang of it again before I go and finish off the mamma jamma. Right now I'm towards the end of Chapter 5, and I figure that the game has at least seven chapters, so I'll see how it turns out.

Half-Life: Source - Call me whatever you want, but the only Valve games I have ever played are a few specific instances of CS several years ago. So now, on the insistence of a few friends, I went and got Steam so I could play the original game. I installed it an hour or so ago, and I'll start playing it once I get back home from work.
