Please put some consideration into the vote. Consider ALL special abilities and stats, such as Mustadio's Aim skill, for example. T.G. Cid may be powerful, but this does not mean that Mustadio should be left out.
EDIT: Due to some concerns with Post Count, I will have to say that VOTES WILL BE SILENT! Do not reply to this topic, just vote, it keeps the post count down. Replying to this will cause your vote to be discounted. Quote Based on stats and abilities Modified by equipment.....? If so, Thief Hat on Orlandu = bye bye Mustadio....... If not, I'll give the match to Mustadio Sniping from a distance |

yes, I'll have to give that too...but remember not to make your decision choice too wild...i.e. two swords Cid with Ragnarok + Chaos blade is virtually undefeatable. Try to keep your thought lines quite...rational. That's all I have to say. Otherwise, vote for the character you think will win\lose, like\hate, etc. It's your choice, voters...I will give 4 days on each round. Then I'll write a short fic in the arena about the loser's demise
![]() Just to ensure correctness, do try to actually pit those two against each other... ![]() This post has been edited by life-giving-river on 30th March 2006 06:50 -------------------- --CounterStriker as much as FF (x)-er-- Reis owns all! If we're talking initial equips, I think Mustadio might be able to squeek out a victory with some Don't Act/Move every other turn and regular Attacks in between. Excalibur's great, but even with simple guns, Musty could just sit and do an eight-panel snipe. Unfortunately, if Orlandu gets in range and manages to do the smart thing (Hellcry Punch), then Musty's got no range advantage, which means Orlandu can sit and do easy-peasy Night Swords to victory (presumably).
In any other respect, I have Orlandu nulling Don't Move/Act with his equips and sending Mustadio the way of all the technology. He's a good fighter, but I don't foresee him winning by anything other than a hairbreadth. I'd go for a Zombie+Seal Evil attempt on the first instance, personally. Besides, whoever heard of Orlandu losing in the first round? It's inconceivable. =p -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Mustadio is my favorite character, but I can save you from finishing this first round, and even having to post any next rounds.
In FFT, Thunder God Cid rules all. TG Cid for teh win, hands down. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

This doesn't make any sense. FFT is a game that is heavily dependent on equipment and various job skills attached. Just pitting two characters against each other without rules on additional customizations, especially in terms of job skills and equipment, is leaving the tournament so vastly open that all you can end up with is arguments without any hope of resolution.
So to go against the grind, Mustadio wins, because he's an engineer. He takes twenty years of his life to build a trap that puts Wile E. Coyote to shame. Then he tells Cid, who is his friend, to come over for tea. The tea is what we call "Anti-Character Shield". Cid, who doesn't expect his friend of two decades to be planning his death, drinks said tea and is later crushed by enough hyper-dense degenerate matter (let's say neutronium) that a minature black hole is formed and the entire world of Ivalice gets sucked in. Since Cid dies first, Mustadio wins. -------------------- Visions of Peace - Four Generals, One Empire, and the Returners caught in the middle. |

Thunder God Cid, whoe else? Think about how often Mustadio's skills really work, and how long they last. He dosen't stand a chance. Now, a magic gun would shorten the gap, but not that much.
Also, I have done this, and the victor is clear. All hail Orlandu! |

Well, Mustadio can have lady luck backing him up by having Weapon Break, it succeeds on the first shot, then Orlandu has no powerful blows with Mustadio way out of range and the major underdog gets the victory! Hey, it can happen!

i think we've got a mostly unanimous decision here...Cid wins, totally owning Mustadio. Round 1 goes to Cid, and round 2 follows up. This poll is now closed.
