I just got Reis sufficient job levels for Ninja, and guess what? She started off with freaking 1798 JP in the job! is this normal????
(i got photo, but havent hosted yet) -------------------- --CounterStriker as much as FF (x)-er-- Reis owns all! Possibly more deadly than Orlandu at lvl 99. Yes, I got social skills of a rock. And I'm proud of it. Damn straight, I don't really trust people, even though I'm human myself. Even I don't trust myself sometimes. Gah! this is getting nowhere. |

It's not necessarily her, I don't think.
Her level plays a part in that, I believe, but I also think it ties in with when the class became available to her, and how much JP others in the team earned for that class for everyone else once it was available to her. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

That's basically true. What it means is that you've had Reis fight alongside Ninjas quite often, so when she gets the prereqs for the Ninja class she comes with all of the built-up JP from fighting with other Ninjas. I dunno the exact equations for this, though, so you might want to look it up in the BMG or something. -------------------- |

Looking back, my post makes hardly any sense, but you summed it up quite nicely. I don't know the equation for JP gain from a party member in a class, either... but I *think* I remember hearing it was 1/10th of the actual character that was in the class's JP gain. Could be wrong on that. Shotgunnova, Master ZED? -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

From the BMG:
JP SHARING When unit X gains JP, everyone else in the party will earn [gained JP / 4] towards the job which unit X currently has. Note: if unit X has 'Gained JP-UP', the extra JP given by that ability are ignored in the JP sharing equation. |

Intriguing... I never knew that was how that worked. I always acknowledged that yes, you gained JP outside of what your character actually was, but I didn't realize it was affected by your team. So, if you're fighting with priest, monk, ninja and knight, the priest, say, will get some JP in its monk, ninja and knight fields as well?

That's exactly what it means. Often times, if I'm looking to gain an expensive ability for characters, I turn a few of them into that job and get it over and done with.

Quote Could be wrong on that. Shotgunnova, Master ZED? I was going to say [JP/6] but it looks like it's [JP/4]. Honestly, long formula questions aren't my bag -- I hate riffing on the BMG all the time. That's why I stick to ones like Night Sword and such. =p -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |
