I read somewhere that if you level a character up as a Mime they have significantly better stats then if you level up as any other job (Other then a lack of MP).
So my question for you all is this. What's the best and/or fastest way, to level up a character as a Mime? I considered Casting Frog on Him aswell as all the enemies, Killing all but one of them off, having the Frog Mime (no pun intended for those who like French Mimes) Attack one of my characters over and over again for experience, while keeping healed with another character. Would this work? I doubt the mime would still try to mimic other characters in frog form, maybe short of phyiscal attacks, but ive never had a Frog mime before ![]() If anyone has strategies or Ideas please let me know ![]() -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |

The best way is having one character with the following:
Battle Skill (Speed break, Power Break) Equip Change (If you have a weapon) And four mimes to finish the leveling for all of them ASAP. Have your first character kill everything but the monster with the less annoying skills. Place your mimes in a circle so that the first one will mime on the second one who will mime on the third, etc. Use Speed Break/Power Break (Try not keeping a monster such a Tiamat/Dragon since you'd have to reduce its MA since he may try to kill your mimes) until his speed/PA is reduced to 1. During that time, your mimes will lower theirs stats miming battle skill. You can now unequip your weapon if you had one or after the next step. Keep using your battle skills until your mime's speed/PA falls at 1. When it's done, hit in the air until all your mimes are 99. Use the turns that your mimes get to give them a extra hit, but it's much faster miming it since it's 4 hits for 1 command entered. Just use a variation if you only got one mime to level up. Although you will lose a lot of time if you are planning to level up more characters that way. Simple no? If you're too lazy, use AI but I wouldn't recommand it. Maybe I could use that Strategy with a two mime variation...
I have a Hard time trying to keep mimes alive in battle due to my love of Math Skill in the first place, and if im just using one Knight with 4 mimes it seems even more difficult. Its a good strategy though i suppose, I might even be able to use magic and mind break aswell just for additional exp... with a monk or something to heal them maybe... Thx ![]() ![]() Edit: First of all, let me say that I've come back and done edits on several of my posts, trying to add new info or maybe get someone to post back and keep the thread alive and or help me, but since there is a double-post rule, and edits dont count as new posts, no one can see that i've added anything new, and my Edit's go on, overlooked ![]() Anyway, I noticed the following when trying to level up characters and or mimes specificly. 1) Mimes will not mimic as a Frog, but it is faster to allow them to mimic other characters, they gain more exp that way. 2) Having level 1 mimes attack other level 1 mimes in a circle as stated above is time consuming. My characters seem to gain experience based on the level of the target. Hence they get somewhere between 10-20 exp for attacking another level 1 and they get 99 exp for attacking ramza at level 99. Hence instead of having my mimes stand in a circle attacking each other, they surrounded Ramza whom used equip change to get rid of his sword and power break to become weaker, and i had all my mimes attack him over and over, until they leveld up. This seems to be the best way, ive found, to level up more then one mime at a time. I also tryed a varient of this, since trying to keep one enemy alive long enough to level up 4 low low level mimes at a time was not only time consuming, but also gave me a headache. I tryed leveling up 2 mimes at a time (im mandalia plains, far corner with a height of 2) with 3 Knights, I made a wall with the knights to block the lone standing enemy, and had the mimes face the knights. The knights would attack the air, causing the mimes to attack the knights, and so forth, it was much easier to manage then a 4 mime 1 knight battle, but since the 4 mimes were split up, it means I have to do the same battle again. If anyone has any good ideas, about faster ways to level up mimes, or characters in general for that matter, please let me know. (Although I doubt anyone will even repost in this topic, since an Edit doesnt count as a New post, it wont climb back up the list ![]() This post has been edited by CT5Holy on 3rd April 2006 20:56 -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |
