This is Reis on lvl 58.



As you can see, her power is nothing to laugh at. And she hasn't got MagicAttackUP which would have doubled the attack power.

I hate it when people say she's weak as hell...

She's not weak. I've never heard anyone here say she was. Without doing the levelup-leveldown trick, she has the possibility for the highest stats in the game at level 99. I don't like using her mostly because of her three-panel movement range. You can augment that with equipment or skills, but it feels like a waste to me.

What equipment does she have with 670 HP? As a Dragoner with a women's hairband she has around 300 at around level 50 or so. I haven't really used her at any great length until my last playthough. At first, she'd die on me rather quickly 'cuz I never put much thought into her other than Beowulf's fiance, but after experimenting more with her and reading other posts that praise her, she actually is tremendous character and I know now that I have mistakenly underestimated her over the years. I now use her with more insight and I give her much more consideration than I have done in the past. I have seen the error of my ways!

Reis is the second-best character in the game, and you seem to have some kind of obsession with her. Her MA, HP, MP, and PA are among the highest in the game, and as a Dragoner she's by far the best Math Skiller and probably the best magic user of any kind. If you level her up without the level down/up trick, she's probably the only character that hits 999 HP and MP without any equipment.

But yeah, it's pretty common knowledge that she kicks ass, I dunno where you got the idea that people thought she was weak.

and FabulousFreebird, he probably just got Reis at a lower level than you did. If you give her lots of levels to work with, her HP maxes out REALLY quickly, even without equipment.

I've personally never heard anyone call her weak. The only thing that ever bothered me was the fact that her dragon form was cooler.

Uhh...she's actually got Reflect Mail and Crystal Helmet...I gave her Equip Armor. Oh, and I made her Move range 7 (original move 3 + 1 move [accessory] + 3 move [ability]). she pretty much does what Orlandu does with annihilating 5 opponents by himself.

Plus, i got a brain wave just then...

Unequip Orlandu's excalibur and put it on Reis.

Then her Holy Breath would do 800 damage on lvl 58!

I thought move +3 was a bard ability... isnt this a female character?

And as for equiping Excalibur, its a Knight Sword, so youll have to be a knight, the 108 gems accessory also adds Strengthen Holy if thats what your after.

You can't give her both Equip Sword and Equip Armor. So what's it gonna be: two Knight Swords (love that inherent Two Swords....) or better HP?

And furthermore, why the **** are you giving her an accessory with a Move bonus when she can equip the Chantage or Setiemson??? Reis is a great character, but you sure as hell aren't using her to her full potential. 800 damage on level 58 isn't really as big a deal as you seem to think, either....

Chillax. It's not like Reis is wasted if you don't give her the Chantage. Personally, I tend to give her Equip Armor, too, but only because she's such a powerhouse, I can just have everyone back her up if needs be, with regards to status-alleviating and positive effects.

And I've only heard a few people call her weak, but they were mostly people wondering why she was so good on the GF boards.

I never said that Equip Armor was a bad ability for her, just that he can't give her swords AND better armor. And I don't think that anything non-Chantage is a waste, but I do think that any kind of shoe on her is, except for maybe Sprint Shoes.

Reis and Orlandu are definatley the two best unique characters in FFT
Reis with a chantage is a goddess
Her stats are awsome, unless i'm in a generic class game, I always use Reis.

I find your Reis rather weak. for her level she hasn't got much HP considering you equipped a Reflect Mail. Her power is not impressive and I don't know about the Zodiac compability, but you are using Holy bracelet on an undead creature which is weak against holy.

Like CT5Holy mentionned, you need to be a knight to equip the Excalibur. Equip sword only allows you to equip swords, no katana, no knight sword, no ninja sword, no nothing else than regular swords.

Personnaly having such a high HP/HP gain, I never bothered equipping an armor to her. A ribbon suits all my needs , the Robe of Lords would have been great too but she's already strong enough.

If you want a powerful Reis, double cast with her using black magic. Either with Short Charge or Magic Attack UP. Just have a knight/whatever in front of Reis with a Reflect Mail stand there while Reis cast on your knight and on the target so that the reflected magic hits twice the target; powerful of course.

IMO Rafa is even more than Reis (If we do NOT consider her unbelievable physical power with two swords inherent).

That's weird, I don't know how the hell I came to that conclusion and I don,t think my memory is rusty. My guess is taht I turned myself to a monk and equipped Equip Armor but I had no helmets. Other than that it's just weird... I don't think it''s a memory leak. Oh well, 3rd time I'm wrong since I joined the forums.

Yup. Equip Armor allows any character to equip armor and helmets, but doesn't apply to hats, clothes, or robes, so that means Monks can wear the Grand Helmet and Maximillian but not a Robe of Lords or Thief Hat .

Im Imagining Reis as a monk here...

Robe of Lords (Shell/Protect +AT)
with Chantage (Reraise/Regen) or Setiemson (Haste/Transparent)

It already sounds too powerful and thats not even counting a reaction or support ablility to go with it...

(on the otherhand I suppose you could just give her Save the queen and Ragnarok (Shell/Protect) with a ribbon and Chantage/Setiemson....As a knight then you could even use a Maxillian or something instead of Robe of Lords lol!)

Yes, it does work 100% if at 100 brave. So that means Reis can become a sort of god on the battlefield with dragonn spirit.

Reis the ultimate annihilator...

And it's not only 1x 999, its 2x. She's using two swords plus haste\regen\protect (from accessories and stuff). No accumulate, no attack up or anything. Just pure strength.

Equipment: Chaos Blade, Ragnarok, Maximillian, Grand Helmet, Bracer

Personally, I really didn't like the Dragoner class. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having breath weapons, but Fire/Ice/Lightning Breath were here only abilities that I used.

Holy Breath isn't reliable enough.


I always change her to a wizard and pump up her MA. Give her Chantage and Short Charge and watch out.

Yea, I don't like the dragoner for the class, but if you turn her into a knight, she's more dangerous than she is as a mage. Especially if you give her Two Swords and Ragnarok\Chaos Blade. Then she can take out Altima in three attacks at lvl 99 (omg...she hits 999 followed by 720. Increases to 999 and 999 if you berserk her).

Even so, with so many physically-aligned characters (Orlandu, Beowulf, Meliadoul, etc.) I find that she, especially with higher Speed and HP, makes a much better Wizard than others.

Granted, 999 and 720 are great damage, but the same effect can be reached by Orlandu equipped with Chaos Blade and Excalibur (and he'll be hasted).

I raised her to lvl 99 as dragoner then turned her into a ninja with punch art as secondary., and concentrate, move+2. with high brave and PA shes doing about 400+ per hit with a lot of health thanks to dragoner ups.

Reis is strong, I admit.. But I prefer Orlandu, Agrias (ranging), Ramza (as a Monk with Armor), Beowulf (Best at killing Zodiac Bosses and even Altima), and Worker 8(For coolness)/Cloud (Because he was a unique character in an FF game he was not meant to belong to the plot).

I'd rather use Reis than Mustadio, Malak, and Rafa, and some others IIRC..

For my part, I always turn Reis into a Lancer. Think it suits her fine

As for the final battle, my lineup is always:

Ramza (Squire)
- Guts
- Charge
- Counter
- Two Swords
- Teleport

Orlandu (Holy Swordsman)
- All Sword (or something like that, can't remember)
- Item
- Counter
- Throw Item
- Move +1

Reis (Lancer)
- Jump
- Dragon
- Counter
- MP Switch
- Teleport

Beowulf (Temple Knight)
- (His Temple Knight command, can't remember either)
- White Magic
- Counter
- Two Swords
- Teleport

As for the fifth, it's either:

Cloud (Soldier)
- Soldier
- Martial Arts
- Counter
- Auto-Potion
- Move +1

OR

Agrias (Holy Knight)
- Holy Sword
- White Magic
- Counter
- Two Hands
- Teleport

I always include Reis. Lots of HP there
