My other shame is actualy buying "The Bouncer" for $55 when it came out, nice graphics, horrible game, finished in half an hour.

I wouldn't buy it for $55, that's for sure, but The Bouncer is a surprisingly good game. I picked it up on a whim from a bargain bin for about $20 and enjoyed it thoroughly. Sure, it's a quick game, but the cinematic graphics, flow, and storytelling made up for it. Besides, in case you didn't know, the whole point is to play the game more than once. If you pick a different character the second time around, you'll see a new perspective to the story. Additionally,

I own, play, and enjoy all the pokemon games on game boy and gba

I'm addicted to we heart.gif katamari

I've never beaten smb1 without my moms help

I couldn't beat FFVII the first time I played through because I didn't know you could breed chocobos

I've played FFX-2 and beaten it 100% twice

I've played and beaten FFVIII at least 4 times in the past 12 months

I've never played FF Tactics

I put myself in every wresling game I own and generally take 3-4 hours just to get the moves done and continue to edit it every time I play

I downloaded E.T. and an ATARI emulator because of how bad everyone said it was

I can't beat any sports game no matter what the difficulty other then wrestling games

I enjoy monster rancher games

I liked FF mystic quest

well, according to many, i guess i should be ashamed for liking FF8 and really liking FFX2. i thought those two games were pretty awesome, and im not really ashamed of loving them, but most others think i should be. another FF thing i get ridculed for sometimes is not having FF7 in my top 3 FFs of all time. sure it was good, but not great.

one kinda embarassing thing is that i gotta an awesome layout of gippal, nooj, and baralai covering 1/4 of one of my walls in my apartment. it looks sweet, but sometimes ppl who come in think im kinda weird lol

I've got y'all beat: I truthfully enjoyed E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial for Atari 2600! Wanna know what's worse? I've still been known to play it. Willingly! There's really nothing all that wrong with it, in my opinion.

Other, Lesser Shames

-I've honestly beaten Solaris, also for Atari 2600. If anyone here's familiar with the game, you might know it's estimated that perhaps only a handful of gamers have ever done so (although I'm sure that's more an expression of its difficulty; more than that have definitely finished it). The main catch is that very few people out there would dare take the insane amount of time required to draw out a map (which I've done) or, gods forbid, memorize the layout of all the quadrants and sectors (which I'm far too forgetful to do) in order to complete it. The most shameful part is that I indeed, years ago, had nothing at all better to do.

-My very first playthrough of FFVI was done in one sitting. Boy, was I cramped afterwards.

-Large Group Shame: Near the end of my senior year in high school, our entire class had to nominate some songs to be voted on for our "class song", a tradition at that school which I'd only started attending the year before. Which of the nominees won and thus became what we were forced to sing at the final pep rally in front of the rest of the school, you ask? Why, none other than "Do the Mario" - and the least shameful bit is I do remember voting for it thinking it'd never win.

-I, too, bought FFX-2. And completed it 100%.

-I'm a fan of the Genesis/Mega Drive game Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. Gotta love the catchy 16-bit versions of Jacko's various 80's tunes (i.e, the only ones worth listening to). Fun game, really.

-Dunno if I should feel ashamed for despising FFVII and FFX; the former bores me to tears and the latter contains 'bout 35 pounds of stupidity divided among most of the characters. Perhaps the real shame comes from the fact that this means I don't completely despise FFVIII and Mystic Quest. Course, I dont exactly like those last two, either.

-I've never gotten above the worst possible ending in every Harvest Moon game that has a worst possible ending.

-And finally, I own and have extensively played Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of the Lance for NES. I do believe I regurgitated a kidney while doing so...

There're more, I'm sure.

I feel dirty everytime I use the save state button on games with save files on their own. That's why on my replay of Earthbound, I'm not going to touch that button. My sig shows where I am in the game

I've never beat Super Mario 3. (Damn that final fortress)

I'm about to restart chapter 10B in FE: Sword of Seals for the 3rd time.

I've never beat an FF without save state. (Got very close with FF7, but I beat the game on my friends file.)

I broke my SNES many years ago

R51, I'm surprised at you! Posting off-topic like that. This is about gaming shames, not sins against humanity.

I suppose my biggest shame, if you can call it that, was buying a video capture device for only two games. I could use it for other things, but I don't. 100 bucks "wasted" on ego. I could have bought a DS with that cash. sleep.gif

My shame is having my dad beat both FFIV and VI before i even got to play them!!!

Until about a year ago, my shame would have been never beating a single game i ever bought...but just recently, i started beating most of my games, and that situation has turned almost 360 degrees since...

Kinda weerd huh?

I played D&D Heroes of the Lance but couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. I tried for a while (during rental periods) and finally decided to resort to cheating... but cheating didn't help. I never did get any further than playing legit.

The only SMB game I haven't finished (up until SMW) is the first one. The last levels are impossible for me.

I've never been able to finish a Megaman game. In fact I gave up on Megaman after part 3 came out because in that one I couldn't beat any of the bosses at all, much less get to them. This doesn't stop me from wanting Megaman: Powered Up for PSP, though. Megaman still has has a special place in my heart, mainly due to part 2, which I haven't finished.

I've never finished Zelda: A Link to the Past either.

When I was in elementary school instead of writing the names of various crushes in my note books I would write the names of upcoming games I was excited about.

And I'm not in the least ashamed to say I like FF X-2, in fact I would say that it's one of the most fun in the series. The only real grip I have is that the black mage class was rendered mostly useless what with certain spells being taken away. I'm bored with elementals!

I thought FFX-2 was immaculately produced and found it hard to hate.

That is incredibly shameful. Perhaps you never got really into the first one? That's pretty much the only thing that could save you. Let's hope for your sake.

I brought X on launch and had 100%-ed before playing X-2....

blush.gif

I'll help you out on this one. I actually got about 40% through the game before I realized how much it sucked. I guess it was because I was so excited to play it. But the story wasn't going anywhere, and they.......killed........blitzball!!!! Damnit!! It was so awesome! How could they do this to me!!!???? *pant* but I rant to no one.

I never liked Blitzball anyway... Didn't bother with it in either game.

Lemme see...

- Beat Link to the Past in one sitting. (only got up to get more cokes and restroom.)
- 100% on FFX-2 (I just think of it as one big long pillow fight.)
- My mother beat FF7 before I did.
- I've played the Blues Brothers game. (It's a good movie...but the game is too sick to survive.)
- 88-0-0 record in Blitzball. (FFX)
- I once hated Relm.
- Never beat any Megaman game.
- My mother beat Dragon Warrior before we even got it. (Got it as promotion through Nintendo Power, gave to us for Christmas, but beat it before then.)
(Remebered some more!)
- Took me ten years to beat FFIV (The US SNES version)
- Never beaten Wrexsoul (FFVI) the legal way. X-Zone the Ross Perot dudes.
- Took about eight games to the store to sell them. Got a grand total of $10. Including the recent (at time) Psi-Ops and the awesome Parasite Eve.
- I UNDERSTAND Xenogears, Xenosaga I and Xenosaga II. I'm pretty sure I'm doing backflips on the tightrope between sanity and insanity.

Probably some more I forgot.

Played Blitzball for a total of 138hrs and 23 minutes.

Played my sisters Barbie hair dressing game about five years ago.

Got to the part before the last boss on FF8 2 years ago and still haven't beat it.

Beaten FF9 5 times and I'm currently on my 6th try.

Bought FFX-2 when it first came out, then I hated it so much I took it to a used video game store and got half of what I payed for it.

Bought FF Chrtystal Chronicles for $30 and only played it once.

Took me 2 years to beat Skies of Arcadia.

Owned FFV and FFVI for 2 years and still haven't finished either of them.

Played my friends FFVII first disc twice, lost it, and still haven't bought him a new one.

Why don't I have cool, Final Fantasy playing parents? x3

Back on track, my shame is that I have a weakness for strategy guides and walkthroughs.

I guess you could also count the fact that I love FFVIII, although I personally don't see that as shameful.

I also have a problem with starting games and never finishing them. I've got to try to work on that. >>;

Lt's see:

- I tend to have some kind of defective "game radar" where I zoom in on the crappiest game possible that I could buy. Point in case: Unlimited Saga. Second point: Crystal Chronicles. Both games, I realized within 10 minutes that I hated them, yet continued to play for a few more days, getting angrier and meaner to everyone around me, threatening my personal and professional relationships! Finally, I just give it up and sell the back to the store, or sell on Ebay, at a terrible fraction of the cost. Now, I try to RESEARCH a game before buying it. I look at reviews. Sure, every game is going to have some people that love it and hate it, but when 90% of the reviews are below 5 (out of 10) it's a red flag.

- My sister once would not let me out of the house or let me talk to my best friend on the phone until I could defeat the first Bowser in SMB. I was like, 8, and I was terribly scared of the fireball arm things. I finally did it though.

- I LOVE FF8. I've been known to play Triple Triad for hours.

- My husband proposed to me while I was playing FF8. I did not let go of the controller, and kept looking at the screen out of the corner of my eyes. (Yes, I really regret it now. I should have enjoyed the moment more! But I just got the game! Anyway, 6 years later we're still happily married.)

- I managed to marry the one man on earth who HATES video games.

- I can play Gunner's Gauntlet (X-2) for hours.

- In 10th grade, I bought a white turtleneck and stretchy pants combo, dyed them yellow, cut out places at the shoulders and sides of thighs, and paired it with a bad blonde wig to be Celes. I forced two guy friends to be Locke and Mog. If I find those shots, I will totally show you guys.

Yeah, I replayed it many times and saw a couple of different and new things in the story, but after a while the game was just blah! But what you say is true, graphics and storyline is good, but replay value goes way down after a month!

I actually played X2....twice....

Here's another. When Secret of Mana first came out, my friend, Grayson, and I took turns playing the game and sleeping for 3 days straight to beat it. Then you ask, did we beat it? Actually, no we didn't. Grayson was fighting the last boss of the game while I slept when the phone rang and he paused the game to go answer it. During this time, a kid named Dj that nobody realy liked showed up and thought he'd play for awhile. I woke up just in time to see him beat the last boss of the game and start watching the credits. When the credits were almost over, Grayson came back in the room pissed off and rightfully so. He ended up chasing Dj out into the woods by the house and beating the crap out of him for it while I just stood there laughing.

So what's shameful about this story? I stayed up with my friend for 3 days straight to beat this game and we didn't even get the satisfaction of beating the last boss. That's shameful.

I don't remember the stonecutter's quote exactly, but something like that.

Here's two I feel guilty about:

- I always use Vanish/Doom, Echo Screen/ Joker Doom, and the Moogle Charm to race through FFVI. sad.gif

- I used PAR Max to max out my DQVIII characters because I was pulling my hair out in frustration trying to beat the optional boss (es). It stopped leveling up after 75 or so, for some reason, and just said level 99...

That won't happen unless there's yet another new team working on FF6A that realizes it's a bug, and even then, they may not remove it strictly for tradition's sake.

- I suppose owning Digimon games would qualify as "gaming shame"....*hangs head in shame*

- Not beating Final Fantasy X, many people have considered it to be the best among the series, but I have owned it for a long time and have yet to beat it.

- Not beating any Megaman games, own lots of them, but never actually beaten one.

... Well, I suppose it could be worse, I could own Custer's Revenge or E.T.

-my biggest shame is that the only final fantasy that i ever beated is FF I
-i loved playing FF X-2
-i could go on an deadly rampage in GTA vice city & GTA san andreas for houres, taking pleasure in brutally murdering people with shotguns, rocket launchers, swords and the minigun
-i cheat and cheat and cheat in almost every game and i will keep on cheating till my very last breath
- i have wrecked one PS 1 and three PS2
- i keep playing FF tactics advance

They may be monsters, but they're sea monsters. What're they gonna do? Flop around on deck and suffocate at us threateningly?

Another gaming shame for me is I'm considering playing FF X-2 after I beat FFX.
The only thing I'm ashamed about FFX is not beating it since owning it for over a year now.

I only just resesntly got 100 % completion in X-2... but I still haven't managed to get Lady Luck or Mascot dresspheres.

FF-X is probably one of my least favourites.

I think Chrono Cross is far superior to Chrono Trigger.

I liked Mickey Mouse's Magical Kingdom (I think that's what it was called, been a while) on NES. I've never managed to beat it, even when cheating.

I played through Star Ocean 2 once and thought it was ok... have tried playing through again numerous times but was always too bored to even bother getting off the first continent. Now I just don't like it enough to bother at all.
