I have recently recieved new information. Ok, have any of you heard of the movie Ladyhawke? It's a story of a knight and his lady who turn into a wolf and a hawk, respectively. At night, he is a wolf, she is a human. During the day, he is human, she is a hawk. That said, I should note that the Japanese manga that the film was based on was called Twilight Princess, or so I've been told. Things making sense  now?

Do you have sources for any of this? That's pretty interesting. I've seen Ladyhawke, but I had no idea that it was based on a Japanese manga.

Yeah, check on IGN. I read it there as well.
They go in depth about it...its an interesting read. It also elaborates on the demo at E3, so be sure to check it out!

I couldn't resist posting, because I'm the one who translated the manga in question and created the webpage refered to on IGN, which I am not above plugging.

The manga's title is Tasogare no Himegimi, which I translated as The Twilight Princess. It is based on Ladyhawke, not the other way around.

Zelda fans, many of whom suspected that Link was the wolf even before the E3 footage and were already drawing comparisons to Ladyhawke found it very interesting that there was another story out there that shared both the title and the (presumed) Ladyhawke connection. But this is not proof that the upcoming game is related to either the manga or the movie. In fact, Mr. Big-Zelda-Man Aonuma claims he's never seen Ladyhawke right here.

The claims of similarity between Tasogare no Himegimi and the Zelda: Twilight Princess are pretty weak in my opinion. In the manga, the lead female character transforms into a hawk, but the male lead is not under any curses at all. As we know, Link will turn into a wolf, but Nintendo has denied that the hawk in the E3 footage is Zelda. That's 0-0 on similarity.

Yes, sadly, I have also heard of this confirmation that Zelda is not a hawk. It was a good idea, though. *sigh*

I just pee'd myself at the sight of something that looked slightly like Ocarina of Time. And it was in a good way. I can't wait.

I was checking out the latest articles in Nintendo power lately. I knew all the while there was word of Link turning into a wolf (an idea which I adore to no end. Just don't eat Epona!) But I wasn't aware he had Minda, that Tiki thing on his back. My imediate reaction was "Why in the name of all things good and pure, why?!?" Is anyone else of the same mind that a Cell shaded Tiki imp that rides around on Wolf-link's back, and attacks with it's hair is a wee bit lame? I'm still crazy-go-nuts excited over this game, but the presence of Minda brought my thrill down a few notches. It reminds me too much of the Skull Kid from LOZMM I supose.

A Zelda game as good as ocarina of time? Gotta get this one. I read the article on IGN. I think that maybe this twilight princess is some new character and not Minda or Zelda.

Has anyone seen the trailer DVD that was included in the latest issue of Nintendo Power? It's really an eyefull! Nintendo really knows how to hype their games. I just keep replaying the scene where Link astride Epona is in a veritable joust with a goblin on a giant boar.

Just thought I'd post this custom made compilation of movies revealed so far. It's done quite well and with music to boot. I can safely say it has efficiently refueled my excitement for the game.

They've hyped it too much for me to handle. I just know I'm going to die before it comes out and pass on horribly miserable.

Bad news for us Zelda followers...

Looks like Zelda won't be out for the Holiday season afterall.

http://cube.ign.com/articles/642/642238p1.html

Speaking with IGN, Kaplan elaborated on the delay of the new Zelda. She explained that Nintendo has not yet committed to a new release date for the game, except to say that it would arrive sometime after March 2006. "But it will be worth the wait," she added.

Oh, I'm sad. I'm sure it will be worth the wait, though. I have yet to see an example of a game that was released without features that it later got for rereleases or other platforms which turned out to be a bad thing. happy.gif Getting it all in one go will be nice.

You can imagine my frustration when GameStop called me and told me the bad news.
Luckily, I know that Nintendo will strive to make it the best damn Zelda yet.

Thoughm I doubt anything can ever compare to ALttP...

I dunno, OoT got damn close. I really look forward to this, I just hope its a very long game (WindWaker wasn't near long enough, OOT for that matter)
I saw a preview for it from EBGames on G4, and it looks everything like the 64 titles, well except of course much much better smile.gif

Well, been a few things been happening since the last post in this thread. As I guess most people already know, TP was announced to be delayed until Fall of 06, near the revolution launch. Maybe lesser know, however, is that Miyamoto (very, VERY recently) confirmed that when playing Twilight princess on the revoltuion "you will be able to use the control in a unique way, which will be unavailable when you play it on the GameCube." He didn't say exactly what, but I'm excited.

well i was going to wait to buy twilight princess for when a get a revolution
so setting back the date isn't that bad
also dates were set back for ALTTP, OoT, and WW during their development
Note that Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time are everbody's favorite two, so this actually bodes well for Twilight Princess.

That called to mind images of the Brownies from Willow. Anyways, I'm with you on that one. Minda riding Link == LAME

I was actually pretty impressd with the way they designed Minda. I like the idea of putting a character with cell shaded parts into a game that uses normal animation. I've always been very loyal to the Zelda series so I won't say anything bad until the game comes out. So far everything in the game that I've seen looks great, and I hope that they take all the time they need to make the game perfect. The last thing I want is to start being disappointed in the Triforce tattoo I have.
