I can't wait to get my hands on one personally. It's no wonder the Japanese developers handheld of choice is the DS, the demand for it is amazing!

We've been over this. Even before the DS Lite's launch, Japanese stores were importing and selling American DS systems to meet demand.

Edit
But yeah, I definitely want one. The comparison scans I've seen show an extremely noticeable difference in brightness, and it looks slick, too. However, if this retails at a higher price than a normal DS (or if the normal DS lowers in price, same difference), then I'll go for the less iPod-like model.

I can't wait for it to launch in the UK so I can get the overweight DS for cheap. smile.gif

Please nobody take offense by this, as I mean none. I just have to say...
Dang, dem Japanese folks is CWAZY!!!!

Seriously though, as much as I'd hate for stuff like that to happen in America (the extreme shortages, I mean), I do wish that videogames would demand SOME of that kind of attention over here.

Man. Someone should tell these japanese kids to go out and get a life. Waiting a little longer to get a video gaming system wouldn't kill any of them. Instead they have to go out and make absolute fools of themselves mobbing stores like crack addicts in hopes of finding one on the release date.

Not that we're any better by a long shot. wink.gif

Well, that's consumerism for you. The truth is, had the announced release date for any given videogame product even been a few weeks later, it wouldn't have made a difference. None of the people who camped out in front of the stores to get an XBox 360 would've died. None of the people who invaded every possible store to get their hands on GTA:SA on the release date would've suddently and unexplainably been castrated. But just because the release date comes around, people suddently turn into hopeless addicts who'll even put their jobs at stake to camp out in front of their local gaming stores just to be the first to watch a slightly higher amount of car-shaped polygonal models racing around a track-shaped polygon mesh with pretty colors and loud explosions.

Or maybe it's just me. I dunno, seems the most intense store-related thing that has happened to me in the past five years was deciding wether to get a slice of pepperoni pizza or all-dressed during my lunch break. >"<

May I please call those people who lined up an entire night to get DS Lites idiots?

At least some of them?

Please? Pretty please?

(And the only reason why I want to get a DS instead of a GBA (not even GBA SP as I don't like the design) is Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Other than that, FFTA, CvAoS, CvHoD, CvCotM, MFus, MZM, MMBN1+,.... Lol, I like being out of touch with fads. Keeps me from acting like an idiot.)

I guess I didn't see any other topics about the massive overnight lines at the DS Lite's launch...

Anyways, I just found this cool comparison shot between the old DS and the Lite!
